We were a group of 14 young travelers, traveling in India during March-Apr 2012. Setting Rajasthan as one of our main destinations, we started looking for a more unconventional experience to enjoy a unique sense of Indian culture and lifestyle.
Reading travel testimonias, we were fascinated to join Bishnoi Village safari, and yes, it was an experience like no other! The Bishnoi Village safari, organised by two motivated brothers from the community, Deepak and Dhanraj, offered us an insightful perspective to Rajasthan villages and having typical Indian village lunch at their farmhouse brought us to a lifestyle still untouched.
Staying the night in Bishnoi Village Camp, seemed more like a dream. The exclusivity of the camps amidst the colourful villages made it a complete experience; wonderful accommodation and food, very well run and managed. The brothers had arranged everything for our stay in the star-full night of the Great Thar where desert would find its rhythm in the memorable melody of a heartfelt 'sarangi' (a stringed musical instrument) player, who would inspire the silent heart of desert with his loving chords.
We are sincerly grateful to Deepak and Dhanraj took us to the cordiality of Rajasthani villages, with provoking philosophy of Bishnoi village community, rich in culture and religion, who celebrate the festival of daily life in harmony with universe. The trip to Bishnoi Village enriched the experience of our travel to India which otherwise would have remained incomplete.
