“Divine as Desert Rhythms”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

We were a group of 14 young travelers, traveling in India during March-Apr 2012. Setting Rajasthan as one of our main destinations, we started looking for a more unconventional experience to enjoy a unique sense of Indian culture and lifestyle.

Reading travel testimonias, we were fascinated to join Bishnoi Village safari, and yes, it was an experience like no other! The Bishnoi Village safari, organised by two motivated brothers from the community, Deepak and Dhanraj, offered us an insightful perspective to Rajasthan villages and having typical Indian village lunch at their farmhouse brought us to a lifestyle still untouched.

Staying the night in Bishnoi Village Camp, seemed more like a dream. The exclusivity of the camps amidst the colourful villages made it a complete experience; wonderful accommodation and food, very well run and managed. The brothers had arranged everything for our stay in the star-full night of the Great Thar where desert would find its rhythm in the memorable melody of a heartfelt 'sarangi' (a stringed musical instrument) player, who would inspire the silent heart of desert with his loving chords.

We are sincerly grateful to Deepak and Dhanraj took us to the cordiality of Rajasthani villages, with provoking philosophy of Bishnoi village community, rich in culture and religion, who celebrate the festival of daily life in harmony with universe. The trip to Bishnoi Village enriched the experience of our travel to India which otherwise would have remained incomplete.

“Welcoming and fun Safari!”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

Had a wonderful day on the Bishnoi village safari! A friend and I had only one day to spend in Jodphur, before our departure to Jaisalmer and we spent the day gaining insight into rural India. Our guide had very good eyesight, spotting wildlife at a great distance and we were lucky to see animals including gazelle, camel, mongoose and peacocks. The jeep ride was good fun and our guide VP Singh was very friendly and had good understanding of English. Our time in the villages was very interesting, where we witnessed the opium ceremony, saw how the locals made their pottery and even had a go ourselves! We were welcomed into the family home and were made to feel very relaxed and enjoyed some good home cooking, so much so that we returned on our way back to visit VP and his family before our flight to Kochi. Would definitely recommend this Safari to anyone visiting Jodhpur!

“A friendly, informative and relaxed insight into rural indian life-excellent!”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

I visited India with a friend and we had planned to stay a very short time in Jodhpur, whilst on our way to Jaisalmer. We decided to take Bishnoi Village safari to fill the time before our onward train and afterwards wished we had more than one day in Jodhpur! The Safari was a fantastic experience - the jeep ride was bumpy but fun, the wildlife great (we were lucky to see gazelle, mongoose and many peacocks) and the villages we visited were very welcoming and our tour guide was very friendly and made us feel very relaxed. He has an outstanding command of the English language. After our trip to Jaisalmer we returned to Jodhpur and our guide even welcomed us into his family home. I would thoroughly recommend this safari and it was one of my highlights of visiting India.

“A great morning: fun for all the family”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

We went on the tour with Deepak. Our two children (10 and 6) were very interested in all he told and showed us. The shopping part of the tour was very minor and when we did not want to buy there was no pressure on us. I can reasly recommend the tour.

“Great experience”
Reviewed 21 March 2012

One of the most beautiful trips while I was inIndia.Deepak, driver and guide comes from these regions and is full of interesting information and will help. Having already fallen dark, I asked Deepak to drive me to the bus station, he telephoned nephew who took me to the station that I probably never found.
I would definitely recommend!
