I very much enjoyed my visit to a home where durry rugs have been being made for generations. The family was in the process of making one during my visit and I got watch them at work for a bit! They explained the materials and dying to me as well. It’s really great to see the artist at work on their craft and to support them directly.

I had a great experience visiting the Bishnol coop. Our guide, Om, was great and picked us up outside Jodphur and guided us through the village. The rug coop was a delight of colors and textures; if you want to buy a rug in India this is the place to go. They also have a home stay program, where visitors stay overnight in a little bungalow near a family and partake of all the family's activities. A must for India's lovers!
