Full of character and excellent value

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Feb 2017
well signed and an interesting walk up narrow streets, this place is full of character and is a great place from which to explore Jodhpur or just to relax on the lovely roof terrace. The food is a particular highlight and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. Great value.

Great view, good food, clean rooms. We preferred that it was in the old town, yes it's further from clock tower but also quieter and more interesting area. (It's still not that far) Staff booked our bus for us, and one particular staff member went out of his way to help us then even chased us to the bus station to return our lonely planet and towel we left in our room.. amazing!
Please bear in mind we rate this as 5* as a budget accommodation! It is up a steep hill and the shower wasn't the best/no toilet roll but we expected this for the price.
Cute rooftop set up and they have tortoises!

I was a little disappointed with our stay at Cosy Guest House. After reading the raving reviews I was expecting much more than we got.

It was by no means bad, the room was big and clean, which one expects for 1000rp per night, but there was no water pressure - just a trickle, at one stage no water was coming out of the shower at all.

It was on the wrong side of the fort, in a really quiet neighborhood, on the top of a tall hill. This wasn't a problem for us, but for older people carrying their bags this may be an issue as no rickshaws can get up there. There were no other restaurants in the area, meaning you had to eat at Cosy. The restaurant was fine, definitely edible, but nothing to call home about.

Cosy is perfect for an older couple or someone looking for some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Jodphur old town, but a little out of the way for someone wanting to experience the full of the city and meet other travelers. It's really close to the back of the fort, just a short walk up the hill.

Great because it's in the old city, its one of the blue houses and the view of the fort was phenomenal! It's a great place to meet other travelers
But just a few warnings of the following:
some items on the menu aren't available and the staff are helpful but if you looking to make friends, they not overly-friendly.
If you a light sleeper then it might be a problem because it's very noisy in the morning with the staff cleaning.
It's also far from most things such as clock tower and not many restaurants in the surroundings.

So it's not a terrible place but just a few little things that might be slightly annoying

Cosy guesthouse is a really great place to stay in Jodhpur ! It's in a little area on the top of the city and calm. The rooms are pretty clean and there is a rooftop where you can eat, drink and chill with the view of the mehrangarh fort ! I'll comeback there for sure the next time
