Staying at Killa Bhawan is like living in a dream! The hotel is located on the ramparts of a magical desert fort. There are 4000-5000 people living in the fort and life there is a unique mixture of living in the 21st and what I presume the 15th century was like.
Bhanu, who runs the hotel is extremely friendly and personable. He was very helpful in accommodating our last minute changes in travel plans. He's also a great conversationalist and told us a lot about life in Jaisalmer.
The room we stayed in at the hotel was unbelievably pretty with an awesome balcony from which there were spectacular views of the city! The tasteful decorations and concerted efforts to retain the character of the 500 year old building make it very atmospheric. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.
Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay and unwind.

Outstanding, a family run hotel. why would you go anywhere else?A fantastic view of the fort from the terrace of the hotel . Great service and nothing is too much trouble, good breakfast.Recommend the family run KB restaurant a short walk away. A place to return to.

Room tip: we had an ensuite room which opened onto the communal terrace.

We arrived in India the day before then went to Jaiselmer. It was a great place to land and chill out for 3 nights. Manu was an excellent host and his staff made us feel right at home. All suggestions for restaurants and sight seeing was spot on. The rooms were amazing and we loved the location.

Room tip: The upstairs front room which is amazing is great but noisy at night if have windows open

Really appreciated the welcome we received and the service that was given in Killa Bhawan. Nothing was too much for the staff and they helped in every way possible!

We were upgraded to a suite with a terrific view; the place outside the suite was also private and felt like an extension of the suite. Breakfast is customised and has a homely touch.

Overall, this was the best stay of our 10 day Rajasthan trip and easily beats Fateh Prakash Palace in Udaipur, due to hospitality, and overall feel-good factor of a stay.

We spent 2 nights in this little jewel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the fort and the city. Simply breathtaking. The hotel is beautiful, breakfast at the rooftop terrace is an experience in itself. And the staff is super friendly. We would have loved to stay much longer. Really wonderful.
