“The abandoned village ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2012

We stopped by in Kuldhara on our way to Sams. Actually there is not much to view. It not like a tourist place, just an abandoned village. The story around the place is very interesting. The village is truly deserted. Local people believes that the village was cursed by the original dwellers who left over-night , and that is why the village is left abandoned. Since it not much away from route to Sams, so one can plan a visit but do not expect much. If one is running short of time to Sams then easily skip it.

“A different sense of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

Whilst most sights tend to concentrate on their historical heritage, this offered something different in terms of its story, its abandonment and its simplicity. A bit tricky to get there, and not much to actually see when you do, but worth a detour if you're nearby, or have a car.

“The deserted village”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2012

This deserted village has an interesting tale. Go to Kuldhara and experience the "vast emptyness" and ask a local to tell you the story of why the people in this and surrounding villages left - overnight - never to come back again.

“Amazing time travel - only to find out things have not changed!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2012

Legend has it that the overlord of the village raised taxes, and all the villagers left one night. It is an eerie place. You always have the feeling that somebody is going to turn up at the next corner. Amazingly the village, without inhabitants for hundreds of years, could be any village in current India. A testament to how little things have changed on this subcontinent.
