“Amazing Camel Breeding Farm”

National Research Centre on Camel
Ranked #3 of 30 things to do in Bikaner

We were fortunate to be able to see the unique camel breeding farm.

You have to go at around 3.30 pm when the camels return from grazing.

This is a site to behold. We saw hundreds of camels coming in, in hoards to the farm. They were so trained that each one wnet into their respective sheds.

Each camel had a name & marking for their keepers to recognise them.

The farm had a shop which sold various items made from camel like ice cream made from camel milk, belts, bags, purse etc, made from camel leather etc.

A wonderful place to visit & experience.

The ice cream was good and the small museum was interesting but there was not much to see - would be good to have an organised tour of the place to learn more about camels. We had a guide but he was crap and didn't know anything

It's a nicely maintained farm and very clean and hygienic (surprising for a camel farm). You get to see the different types of camels and camels in the different age groups. Dusk is the best time cuz you can see the herds coming into the drinking-water area and the sheer magnitude of the scene is worth a capture!
