It is accessible both by road and trek. The top has a fantastic view. The locals near the top serve sumptous zunka and bhakri (rotis).

I traveled from Hinjewadi to this place. The route has quite a lot of bends, hire a powerful vehicle and ensure the vehicle is in good condition as we noticed, some breakdowns along the hilly route.
On the way you will pass through Mahaballeshwar a hilly place. I loved that place. Do visit the strawberry gardens and Valley view around the fort. They are just mesmerizing.

the fort is too far form the main city and there are not a lot of ways to reach there also always the roads are bad , the government repairs it but soon enough coz of the rain its the same bad road very soon.
Its located in an area where always there is nice rainfall so it makes it really pretty location bt other then that there are not a lot of things which can be even mentioned here.

Sinhagad (The Lion's Fort, warrior Tanaji Malusare Lion who won this Fort for Shivaji, founder of the Maratha Empire ) is roughly 30 kilometers from Pune.
Favorite destination for tourists, trekker and popular weekend destination for local people.

Fort is famous for Battle of Sinhagad (check on Google/wiki for details)
fortification are now in ruins, but visitors still sense how the fort acted as an active military outpost.

You can reach at the top by road or by climbing. Plenty parking space on top but in monsoon very difficult to find parking place even for bike.
Time to reach at the top by vehicle is 30min and around 1.30hr as trek (Considering avg stamina as many people can climb Sinhagad in 30-40 min)

Places to see on Fort are military stables, brewery ,a Kali (goddess) temple and houses a memorial to warrior Tanaji as well as the tomb of Rajaram, Shivaji's younger son, who also died here

Food :-
Famous for Zunka-bhakari, Khekada kanda bhaji (Onion Pakoda) and curd. All are Marathi local dishes. Now a days there are small hotels where you can get other Marathi cuisine dishes.
Better to carry some snacks

Best time to visit this place in monsoon and Winter season.

Its a fort on top of hill and visiting any time except monsoon is not advisable. Also lot of crowd(I guess its favorite destination for most of localities). The final stretch of last 10 kms of road is very pathetic. Lot of small shops on top which will provide you taste of local Marathi cuisines.
