“Spellbinding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2012

I have no words to describe this place. it has its own captivity, and I cannot forget the time I had there even after 6 months.

It took us one hour to figure out the right turn (Going from Pune), and then an hours drive to reach the place, but once there, I was speechless, and spellbound by the beauty in the sculptures.

The form and flow of all the figurines is absolutely awesome. I cannot imagine the efforts put in by artists to create such a wonder.

The temple is almost 800 years old, the place is little off the road, hence no crowd. it simply takes you off guard and creates its own space in your mind.

“A Shiva Temple in Desert”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

There are very less places left which are untouched. This is one of such kind. A one ad half hour drive from Pune. You have to take the Pune Solapur highway; then take the Bhuleshwar signboard after the the second toll bridge. It's 12-15 Km from this diversion. he Shiva temple is located on one small hill. You can drive till the top of the hill at the base of temple where ample place is there for parking.
The temple is pretty old. Fully made up of stone and one of the finest carvings on entire temple. As said above one of the untouched places hence more beautiful and natural. You will not any restaurants or hotels, need to carry your own. A half day cool trip.

“Abode of Truth In DARKNESS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2012

Never loved a Temple so much in my life as i did yesterday,This temple is not just religion centric but also have an immence beauty of it's arctitectural marvel and also the usage of light, reminds me very much of a pathbreaking photography in Guru Dutt movies...

It's beauty on walls was not just spellbinding but also testimony to the historical facts of savagery inflicted on it by Auranhzeb, All the idols except the Holy Pindi of Shivling are "Khandit" and yet they look so much serence and beautiful. May the savagery have given the beauty of idol's a ironic mystery which enhances with the darkness inside the temple with very few outlests to welcome the mighty Sun.

Just 60 km from Pune , this is one place which not only quenches one's thirst for the Spritualism but also the History and Architecture...

Worth a day trip on any weekend when it's bustling with kid's who normally visit as school picnic's.

“Breathtaking!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2011

I am not a spiritual or a religious guy.. but this temple swept me off my feet completely. The interior of the temple is calm and the rock carvings all through the temple are simply marvellous. The highlight of this temple would be the huge stone nandi statue. This place is worth a visit. The nearby Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary can make an interesting extended trip if you are interested to see the beautiful and graceful Chinkaras.
