I have been visiting Chiplun-Guhagar-Velneshwar area for the last 17 years. I have passed by this hotels many times, but this year I finally decided to try this hotel. And I was not disappointed. This used to be a Taj property and this shows in the facility overall as well as the behavior of the staff.

The place does have an upmarket feel, though purely from a v-f-m perspective, the price should have been a 5-6k (and not 7k that I paid).

The place (including lawns, swimming pool etc) is well maintained, rooms are clean and restaurant serves decent food. The staff is super-courteous. The rooms show signs of ageing, but I wont deduct any points for that as that did not affect my overall experience.

And now the view - what you see from the balcony/window is cool! The views of the Vashishti river and the valley is nice.

All in all a good option for frequent travelers to the Chiplun region. For others, it is a good once in a while option to rest and rejuvenate.

Room tip: Superior rooms

The resort has an excellent view of the river from top of the hill. It’s well laid out and has a lot of birds within the campus.

The rooms seem a bit old and run down, but the place is well managed and has a decent service levels.

Would definitely recommend for a day’s stay.

Its situated over a hill slope and the landscaping is excellent... Rooms are huge and have 2 large beds... can accomodate 4 adults easily... however, hotel does not allow 4 adults in one room - they allow only 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids... can get inter connected rooms.. Each room has a balcony and lovely view from the valley facing rooms... Good food too.. Pool is nice and superbly located.. The sunset view is simply amazing.... However property is 30 years old and may need to be renovated. still have the old CRT TVs... but overall a lovely lovely place.. ideal for a 2 day trip (one night stay)... or a stopover enroute to Konkan/ Goa....

Room tip: Valley facing rooms have the best view... no lift - so elderly persons may have slight problem....

First of all, I have to say this place will be heavenly in the monsoons so I regret going there in the scorching heat of May

Secondly always take a meal inclusive package if possible as the food is expensive here.... Dinner for 4 with beer will cost you around Rs 2800....

And last but not the least, plan to come here only if you want to idle away your time as there's nothing much to see... All major sightseeing is minimum 60-90 mins away

The resort in itself is very good.....just that it's more than 2 decades old and it shows!!! The staff is attentive and they have maintained the property well.... Special mention to the Infiniti pool... Watching the sunset from there is a surreal experience

All in all, we enjoyed our 3 night stay

This is a beautiful place...well maintained with a lot of greenery to soothe your tired eyes. They have a nice semi large pool that has a view of the river and hills in the distance. It's a pleasant drive to and from Mumbai and hence makes for a great weekend getaway.Food was Ok as were the rooms. The place is kid friendly with a number of games and activities on offer to keep children occupied. Overall very good VFM.
