Kalsubai is a 6.6 km long trek with an elevation gain of around 2700 ft. This is a one day trek having easy difficulty level with lush green landscapes and multiple waterfalls. The peak attracts many trekkers and devotees determined to scale the mountain. To reach the summit there are well designated trekking routes. The most popular route is through the eastern mountain face taking off from the base village Bari.

To reach Kalsubai peak, one has to reach to its base village Bari which falls between Ghoti and Akole route. Mumbaikars can catch local upto Kasara from Central Railway. After reaching Kasara, there are two options: State Transport bus plying to Akole/Sangamner. In the afternoon, there is bus at 2:30 pm which will take you upto Bari village. Fare of Kasara - Bari is ₹70, Second option is share Jeep but it will be too much congested and they take ₹120 per person.
After reaching Bari, there are two options, either stay in Homestay also there are few hotel which can provide accommodation.
I choose homestay Adiraj also known as Krushnavanti run by Raju Bharmal (Contact - 7350827854 ). They will charge (₹200 per meal and ₹300 for stay) for one day per person. One can opt their services for morning/night trek.
Raju Bhau and their family is very humble and caring towards their guest. I spent two fantastic days with them.
Raju Bhau also showed me nearby places and guided me for my remaining journey.

About Kalsubai peak -
It will take 1.30 Hrs to reach Kalsubai peak if you are a fit enthusiast else extra one hour. There are eatery shops enroute to peak. Some portion of the trek has iron ladders which will help in ascend and descend. Monkeys can aslo be seen nearby these ladders. Refrain yourself in carrying food in hand or open bag in these patches.
After reaching peak, There is small temple of Goddess Kalsubai surrounded by serene mountains. One can sit here for one hour before start descending.
Right from Bari village till peak, except few spots, there is no mobile range.
Nearby places to Kalsubai are - Bhandardara (18 km), Ratangad, Sandan Valley, Taked (Lord Ram with Jatayu temple). It will require additional 2 days to see these places.

Started the journey from Mumbai CST station at 7:30 PM, reached kasara. Took taxi from kasara to Bari village. We took a halt on highway for dinner and snacks at a dhaba. Reached base village by 1:00 AM. Most of the people were excited except one or two. We were heading towards experiencing a thrilling adventure, the idea of night trek filled so much excitement and enthusiasm in my veins. Person incharge was giving the basic briefing about the trek then we were interacting the fellow members of trek. It was a group of 30 persons.
.
And the trek begins by 2:00 AM, it is 13 Kms long trekk. Everyone was coordinating and cooperating each other on the trek. It was zero vision at night, hence we used torches. After trekking for 2 hours every one was tired, as the trek was steap and hard. We took a break for 15 minutes shared snack. Regained our energy and resumed the trekk then we didn't stop till we reach the top. It was 6:00 AM everyone was crawling like a toddler, we had finally reached at our destination!!
.
The only thought striked to my mind was - "yes! We did it, we did it". We were on the top of the Kalsubai mountain!!!. The sight was unbelievable and beyond the description. We were there till 9:30 PM, had our breakfast at the peak, enjoyed the dawn and took some rest. After 9:30 AM we packed our stuff and started down trekk.

Visit to Kalsubai peak was in my bucket list since long. Made mind and visited in End Sep 19. Reached to the starting point at Sarowarwadi of Bari Village. (There are multiple entry points). In 5 minutes reached steps which are very high and steep. Further journey was enjoyable as there was lush green surrounding, water falls on the high mountain and the jungle flowered have blossomed everywhere. It is about 6 KM steep trek in through jungle, there are ladders installed at hard points. it took me 4 hours to reach the peak and 3 hours to descend. I returned with desire to return again. It was journey worth taking.
