Star hotel located at a prime religious spot. The beach here is the place where the people of the state disperse the Ashes. Great view of the sea from the room and rooftop restaurant. A decent swimming pool.

A great place to stay with kids. They have a clean pool and the beach is so easily accessible, you can see it from the window and choose to go based on the crowd. Nearby attractions - Varkala Cliff, Kappil Beach (Estuary). Roads aren't great just like all other great tourist attractions of Kerala.
Booked a room at Hindustan Resort on agado.com paying Rs6000 on Christmas Day. I received a confirmation email as well. Needless to say i had high hopes. Unfortunately the series of events that transpired was both a massive letdown and daylight robbery.
On arrival i was told that there was no room and that they were fully booked. My waving around a confirmation letter was of no avail. They flat told me to follow it up with agado.com.
Catch is that Agoda.com is not based in India. They have zero helplines or assistance except a useless bot that is a case-study on how not to use AI in customer relation.
I dont know whose fault it was but i do know that there was zero sincere effort in helping me contact agoda or make things right. I asked for a letter that said that i had turned up and the booking was deied and even that was given.
I know only a few things for sure
1. I lost Rs 6000 of my hard earned money.
2 My day was ruined.
Moral of the story : Book with Agoda at your own risk. I wont comment on the property but they on first look they didnt seem like the most helpful people.

The hotel is located right next to Papanasam beach and it's just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The hotel is about 2-3 km from Varkala Cliff. All rooms are sea view with all basic amenities. The hotel has a restaurant on the fifth floor. The rooms are spacious and well kitted. The only flaw was that the room was very damp and smelled of fungus. The balcony and windows were dirty and smelled very bad due to dampness and bird leftovers. The breakfast had a good spread and it was on order due to COVID restrictions. The hotel has swimming pool for adults as well as children, which is well maintained. Giving a three star just because of lack of maintenance, which the hotel can improve. Otherwise worth a one day stay.
View from Hotel is nice but quality of service provided by Hotel are definitely not value for money. No proper ac cooling so they arranged table fan. Definitely not expecting if you are paying for 4-star hotel. Exhaust was not working. For one day stay, we had switched our room still the same issue.
No proper car parking space, tap leakage in bathroom, ants in room, no proper bedsheets, breakfast was also not good. Afterall one can avoid this property. Not at all looks like a 4-star one. It is like 2-star hotel provides much better facility than this hotel. Totally Avoidable.
We stayed here for 3 days..and breakfast ws included in the menu..we came around 10 in the morning for breakfast and we were served cold food..we ordered masala dosa and idli and chutney..he took an hour to serve and on asking the waiter to change the food he just microwaved the dosa..and took another 1 hour to serve idli and chutney.. pathetic service in terms of food really..if there was a negative star possible ni would have given that.. pathetic.. please don't eat here..and save your time and go to some other restraunt..
