So, we booked the stay in the dorm at Cliff and corals during this Christmas time. From what we read online and after charging us 6k for just 1 day, we were hoping for pretty decent rooms with basic amenities. But, we were highly disappointed by their service and rooms.
Rooms: The fans were so dusty. There were no toiletries ( soap, towel, lotions) except a handwash in the bathroom. When asked to the owners, they said that it is a "budget" room. Charging 1000 per head for a non-ac room and calling it as budget, LOL! and that they expect the travelers to carry along. They haven't mentioned anywhere on their site that the basic amenities won't be provided unless paid extra. The rooms didn't even have proper locks.
But thanks, for at least providing us with bedcovers and pillows ( that too one less) as pillows would've taken up more space in the bag.
Service: The owners were friendly whom we met just at the time of arrival and over calls. But, the one with whom we had most interaction, a lady caretaker, her behavior was so rude and nosy, who even judged us for being on a vacation.

Hence, we assured her that, we will wear them inside only after washing them if it gets dirty. She agreed! we were satisfied. But, on the same day, afternoon, when we wore the slipper inside, she shouted and insulted us in front of other guests for wearing them.
As it was Christmas, we expected them to have some event at the cafe. But when we arrived, it was just Vidya Vox's songs played on an LED!!!
Though we had booked for 3 scooters on the 2nd day, they failed to fulfill the requirement and we had to search elsewhere.
The only good thing we experienced was, they allowed us to keep our bags in their living room after checking out as we had to go sightseeing and allowed us to use the washroom when leaving. (whether it must be considered as a humane character for the service industry or not, we are grateful to them for that)
I would strongly recommend the owners to take action asap for their good.
A happy customer will always bring in more customers, hence, making sure your guests are comfortable, and at least providing the value wrt to the charges ensures you have strong word of mouth marketing.
Focus on improving the quality of service, customer-friendly caretakers, providing basic amenities or at least being transparent about it in the site which is easily accessible, addressing the guests needs and answering them with satisfactory answers (speaking fluent English to the guests to coverup the issue won't suffice ), will improve Cliff and corals.
There are many other better homestays nearby which we found later but aren't so popular on media. So, please do thorough research for places nearby before confirming.More
