The menu for "Rock N Roll Cafe" is impressive and definitely stimulates the taste buds. We had visited there last year and had found the staff rude and the food (salad) unfresh. We decided to give it another try as staff are often seasonal if not up to standard, can bring down the overall standard of a place.
The staff were not rude but neither were they very interested in doing any work (at least the waiter we got wasn't). They looked as though they were body builders who had been reluctantly dragged away from the local gym. When we sat down we were given a cocktail list and ordered cocktails. Having not been given a food menu we were uncertain whether they were actually serving food. We asked for a food menu and had to waited ages for this to arrive despite there only being two other tables occupied at the time. There were at least two, possibly three waiters working and they were for most of our time there, sat on the wall at the front of the restaurant, apparently not very interested in the needs of customers. The only one who did seem focused on his work was the Tibetan cook. My partner had a seafood marinara which had only tuna in and not the prawns and calamari that was given in the menu description. It was barely warm and lacking in imagination. I had some crab dish which was served with rice. It sounded succulent on the menu but was in fact incredibly salty and again very unimaginative. I don't doubt that this restaurant has served up some good food in the past but unfortunately on the occasions that we have visited the abilities and motivation of the staff have let it down.
