One of the best hostels I've stayed in during my whole 3 months long India trip. Very clean and comfortable. The staff there are amazing. They organized a barbecue when I was there. Also a really good place if you wanna go surfing as some of them are also surf instructors. I would absolutely recommend to stay there if you come to Varkala !

Pagans is a fantastic hostel. Clean, big rooms, plenty of bathrooms, comfy beds (the curtains are a nice touch as well!) and it's within walking distance of the cliff. However the best part for me were Vanitha and Krishna who work there. They created a great friendly atmosphere. They put on a delicious bbq and fantastic Christmas dinner, it was more like hanging out at a friends house than staying in a hostel! Absolutely brilliant!
I visited Pagan's in December and could not have had a better time! Firstly the hostel itself is very clean and the beds are the most comfortable I've stayed in (the privacy curtains are an added bonus).
The staff are excellent, Vanita and Krishna made my stay incredibly memorable!
The location of the hostel is also excellent as it is only a 5 minute walk from the beach and cliff top restaurants.
Pagan's is something special - we ended up staying there for two weeks!

I can’t thank Anoop and Krishna enough for such a wonderful stay at Pagan’s Backpackers Hostel hostel! As a solo female traveller I can’t sing these guys praises enough- they make you feel totally at home and I can truly say I have made friends for life :) the hostel itself was so cosy- with curtains on all of the beds so you always feel like you have your own privacy- even when the dorm is full! There is fresh drinking water always available and free super speedy WiFi! I absolutely loved it here- I extended my stay! The hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the sea front and so easy to get to. Being just off from the sea front means that if you want to chill in the hostel of an evening, you aren’t disturbed by music from the bars, but also means you are close enough to go and party without worrying about getting back. Thank you again and I will definitely be coming back soon!!
Pagans Hostel was the perfect accommodation for our stay in Varkala. The location is a short walk from everything you need and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. It is super easy to meet people whether your traveling solo or with others. The beds are the most comfortable that we have experienced so far in India! I highly recommend Pagans!
This hostel offers really comfortable beds & safety lockers attached to them. The little garden in the back with fresh herbs and vegetables is a huge plus. The owner Anoop is the loveliest host & a super down to earth guy. I would go back just to enjoy the staff's company again !
