This is an excellent property amidst lush green surroundings and the beach being just a 100 steps away. The rooms were good, restaurant was nice and so was the swimming pool.

The garden is quite good and hence this is a suitable property for families with children as well. Frankly I cant think of any complaints. Overall, a wonderful property.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent, no preference for a particular section of rooms as all are good

Travancore heritage was the last stop in our lovely holiday to "God's own country "- Kerala ! It is indeed a lovely property with beautiful cottages spread over on a cliff over looking the sea.Not all cottages have a direct sea view though. At the bottom of the cliff is the second part of the hotel - the Beach grove. The resort has 2 pools .The one near the reception is bigger and really nice.We were in the Heritage home .Very nice furniture and comfortable room. The bathrooms can be better done up....with some ventilation!
The staff is quietly efficient and very helpful!
There is a lift to go down the cliff to the beach grove area and also ,the beach. The resort maintains a small part of the beach. The beach is nice but unfortunately in June ,the sea is very rough and so we had to make do with just wetting our feet in the sea!
The restaurant is very nice and they have a superb breakfast and dinner buffet! They have their own bakery ,it seems because they had some lovely cookies and bread! The Indian food was great too.
We did a day trip to kanyakumari while we were there - it was around 80 km from there .
They have a small library ,recreation room and a spa .
To summarize - it is a beautiful heritage resort that we loved .
We shall always cherish the quietness of the place with the sound of the sea at a distance and birds chirping .....

We were greeted warmly and were taken to our room (53) in a block what fabulous views .The beach is accessed down a lift operated by Micheal who is very pleasant across march ?the fisherman kept us entertained for hours watching them bringing in their catch calling to the woman who gather it up and sell it to the wholesalers who take it away in ice packed baskets on mopeds. We heard the bells each morning.Shame that the hotel doesn't have somewhere to relax after a meal !Why not convert the little used games room into a lounge!!Often the reception looked like computers shop and it would be better if guest didn't bring their laptops etc into the restaurant. We stayed for two weeks after a two wek tour of India and relaxed well!!,

The Travancore Heritage is about 20 minutes from Kovalam Beach, but local taxis provide a return trip for 500 rupees. It is simply a beautiful, restful hotel with wonderfully grounds, attentive staff, excellent food and a stunning location. Prices for pedicures.manicures are a bargain even at the hotel - 500 rupees!

If you are disabled or have monility problems, I suspect this is not the hotel for y ou. The bungalows are set in 32 acres of coconut plantations, and the rooms are accessed through the gardens and down a lift which fails regularly due to the power cuts - all part of the charm and they only last minutes. For us, it was a treat to wander through the gardens and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

The beach is a little distance away and there is a strip of marshland to cross first, but we wandered down most mornings to watch the fishermen bring in the days catch with no problem. If we were going for a beach, we would probably go towards Kovalam.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!

Travancore Heritage located on Chowara is just on the beach. Beach Groove Rooms are sea view & have a swimming pool near too. The Reception ,Main Restaurant & Ayurvedic Center is little away but keeping in mind about the uninterrupted Sea View it offers, it is worthy to take that pain. Cottages are better but all of them don't have perfect uninterrupted Sea View. It is worth staying if your Primary Concern is the Sea, not the other things like Shopping etc etc.

Room Tip: Beach groove
