I visited the Athreya Ayurvedic Centre for the 2nd year in a row after last years’ 3 week panchakarma treatment, this time for 4 weeks. I was welcomed by Dr. Sreejit and his wife Dr. Jayalakshmi with open hearts and it felt like coming home to a dear family.
Dr. Sreejit is the most dedicated, passionate, honest, and knowledgeable Ayurvedic doctor I have met. Consultation already starts prior to arriving in Kerala by filling out the medical form in advance and having a WhatsApp conversation with Dr. Sreejit.
After the first thorough consultation on site with Dr. Sreejit, the personalized treatments with Simi and Anjana started. These two therapists are just outstanding and perform their excellent work with such dedication, care and professionalism. Every day Dr. Sreejit checks on everybody’s welfare and adjusts the treatment whenever necessary. Improvements and changes are an ongoing task of Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalakshmi, be it organization, training employees or renovation.
The beautiful dining area upstairs above the kitchen as well as the silent area downstairs next to the holy Banyan tree and the conversation area on the other side provide the perfect place for the client’s needs. On top of the islands’ building, the huge open airy yoga room allows to enjoy wonderful sunrises and sunsets. The two daily hatha yoga sessions with Pradeep are out of this world. I even was able to enjoy yoga nidra guided by Pradeep. I would not miss one class if it wasn’t for the specific treatments that won’t allow yoga afterwards.
Spending 2-3 hours in the Kuti Praveshika a few days in a row was a very special, profound and spiritual experience.
Feedbacks in all areas are given to the Drs. in a notebook, where you can write anything of your concern, be it mentally, physically or organizational. Action is taken immediately whenever possible.
Binish takes excellent care of the clients. He delivers the special food and the herbal water twice a day to the rooms. He cooks and makes you drink medicine that many times doesn’t taste good at all ;). Sachin cooks the tasty and healthy sattvic meals. Sayinu, the nurse, checks your blood pressure, pulse and temperature daily.
Ashish and Rahul also take care of the clients whenever something is needed.
I wish to thank Dr. Sreejit, Dr. Jayalakshmi, Simi, Anjana, Pradeep, Binish, Sachin, Sayinu, Ashish, Rahul and all the other staff, cleaning ladies, therapists, for making the Athreya Ayurvedic Centre so special. I could not think of a better place to enjoy (most of the time, because not every treatment is nice, but very effective) an authentic Ayurvedic panchakarma treatment. I will be back for sure.More
