When I booked Athreya, at that time I was suffering from severe migraine/ headaches, stiff shoulders and neck muscles, acidity etc. My day to day life was severely affected with this. I was looking at some natural treatment method and I'm so happy that I chose this place for my treatment. Dr. Sreejit is a wonderful doctor, in-tune with his patient's needs, care and comfort. I have no words to thank him and his staff for all the care extended to me during my treatment. My therapists - Suja and Simi were sweet and persistent in their work. They relieved my 4 years old stiff knots from my shoulder muscles. Every member of the staff was friendly and kind. I was not sure how would I fare with this treatment being all alone but my worries were unfound and I rather loved my stay at Athreya. It's not easy but the doctors (Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalakshmi) and their staff are all amazing people and expertly help you through the process. Last but not least, it was wonderful to meet so many people of different nationalities/ cultures and backgrounds. Made some lovely friends on the way.

For me it was the first Ayurveda experience - and I have to say that it was a great one. Here you get very traditional and careful treatments. Some parts of it cost me overcoming, but Dr. Sreejit and his team were able to catch me. He is a doctor who does not only look on the physical side of a patient. He also listens to all emotional things with an incredible appreciation. I had the impression, that I could tell him EVERYTHING. In Germany I never made this experience. Also a big praise to the lady doctor, the therapists, the kitchen team, the room service and the receptionist. At least - I liked very much the country environment and the people living right next door. I wish to come back !!!

The Athreya Ayurvedic Center is a manageable resort on the outskirts of the village of Pallom, located on the adjacent rice fields and backwaters. "Small but beautiful", because at Athreya, a highly competent and experienced couple of doctors look to the fact that authentic Ayurveda is offered and preserved in its purest form. Anyone who chooses Athreya either has illnesses or is interested in serious panchakarma, which has little to do with wellness and beach tourism.
The staff there is always ready to make your stay pleasant and fulfill any wish, if possible. The teatments, which are the heart of the cure, initially focus on an intensive detoxification of the whole organism, and then turn more individually.
The accomdation is simple but very nice, one get's back to normality, and the
good air as well as a touching bird and plant world make this a place with very good energy.

Room tip: Some rooms have direct access into the garden, other rooms have a beautiful view into the paddy fields.

I and my husband visited Athreya in Dec, 2017 for detoxification and relaxation after a hectic year. We were there for 12 days and our overall experience was incredible.
Arrival and welcome – We had requested for a taxi to pick us from the airport. The driver who was sent for the pick-up was very friendly and welcoming. We were received with warmth at the resort and as soon as we entered the resort we could feel the peace and positive energy of the place.
Treatments, therapies and therapists – Our therapy started on the same day we arrived. It’s quite amazing how everything is pre-planned for you even before you arrive there. The therapists for you are already assigned, doctor is available for the initial consultation and your treatment timings are also decided.
It took me around 2 days to get used to the treatment but as doctor mentioned it’s quite normal to get fever, etc. during initial days of treatment. And my situation was so bad for the first 2 days that I was almost regretting going there but things took a turn and 3rd day I was feeling quite good and refreshed since my body got used to the treatments.
Doctor was very considerate and flexible to change the treatment timings and schedule according to my wish and how I was feeling. After that, 10 days just flew by!
As for all the therapies, I don’t think Indians would take too much time getting used to the smell of medicines and other ayurvedic stuff used for treatments but ya it definitely takes some time.
Therapists were friendly and tried to soothe and calm us down during the treatments. They are skilled at what they do. I understand the fact that they are not very skilled at English language but sometimes it was difficult to communicate to them because of language barrier even though I’m an Indian who doesn’t speak Malyalam. So that’s the only feedback I have for the therapists, otherwise no complaints at all treatment wise.
Campus – It’s a beautiful campus connecting you to nature and specially the paddy field view and walk around is so soothing. Mosquitos can be troubling at times considering the place is surrounded by greenery.
Food - Loved loved loved the food! We liked the fact that food menu is so carefully designed by Dr. Sreejit for each day of the week and which treatment you’re under going. The concept of silent zone for eating was quite captivating and we tried that first 2 days but as we made some friends we moved to the “talkative people” zone. But honestly we noticed we started eating more as we moved from silent zone.
Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalakshmi –Dr. Sreejit is the life of the whole place. He has such a smiling and pleasing personality and he’s available at all times. During my first 2 days when I wasn’t feeling well I texted him at unusual times and he was so responsive. His knowledge on Ayurveda is just remarkable. Dr. Jayalakshmi has a very soothing personality and she helped me calm down during my initial days there.
This was our first Ayurveda experience and definitely not the last, all thanks to Dr. Sreejit!
