Simply loved the center. The main entrance and the reception area is simply bliss. The cottages are simple with all your basis needs attended to. The cottage are well maintained and the cleanliness factor reigns supreme. Awesome veggie food and the Ayurvedic treatments can get addictive :))

In terms of activities to keep yourself busy though your stay is rather limited to a self-walk and some early morning yoga, it would be good for management to look into this aspect.

I was very pleased with my stay, the staff, their friendly service, their 24hr smiles and the Doctor was amazing. Located very close to the city center (Kottayam) and the commuting fees are cheap. The accommodation rates are rather reasonable and good value for money. If the weather is good there is no need of an a/c room to be booked.
Will definitely be going back for some more.

we called the property before going to india....Dr. Srejeet appeared very educated and accomodating person........i explained him that i'm looking for weight loss program & intend to learn & teach my chilren YOGA for fittness also I told him abt the level of psoriasis my husband had........
my trip turned out to be a total disaster as nothing was really available....yoga only once for 1/2 hr in morning which always clashed with treatment times.....can't change them as they don't have enough staff to handle 5 patients staying in the resort.....we r north Indians travelling from US with kids was very much emphasised to dr. Serjeet who said he will make simple noth indian foods available but after repeated request they only seRved south indian food every day & same menu!!!!
i requested yoga training for my kids with extra payment but was turned down saying they don't have anybody and the person who trains in morning is too busy
they talk about complimentary things....PLEASE DONOT GET FOOLED

we are happy to get a chance to say our part of the story that is untold so far as the descriptions by the honourable guest mrs rita mallick [ whom we could serve ] has made a bunch of lies in writing
we thank her for the effort and time she has taken to make a review
in the last 7 years of our existence as a resort , w e have had only 4 bad reviews on tripadvisor and this automaticlaly speaks if we honour the ideals of respecting client’s money faith and time spent with us
all the tarriffs details are copy pasted much in advance
responses from athreya resort are made in capital letters just below the guest’s lines on trip advisor review
we called the property before going to india....dr. srejeet appeared very educated and accomodating person........i explained him that i'm looking for weight loss program & intend to learn & teach my chilren yoga for fittness also i told him abt the level of psoriasis my husband had........
my trip turned out to be a total disaster as nothing was really available...
the honourable client had come for only 5 days and it is unrealistic medcially --to expect weight loss in just 5 days when the client is suffering with a nagging chronic ailment [ i can not name it here for professional ethics ]
like all client she too was informed cure prospects of her and family’s helath issues by a tele discussion much in advance of booking the reosrt for visit

.yoga only once for 1/2 hr in morning which always clashed with treatment times....
this is big lie !! , no yoga in any part of the world gets over in half hour !! and all our yoga classes take one hour minmum to get completed

.can't change them as they don't have enough staff to handle 5 patients staying in the resort.....

even in peak season of septemeber to march we serve about 25 cleints

we r north indians travelling from us with kids was very much emphasised to dr. serjeet who said he will make simple noth indian foods available but after repeated request they only served south indian food every day & same menu!!!!

again a big lie – chapathis and vergetable curries of north india are made and served in the restaurant , but this is not applicable for a cleint who orginally palnned for 5 days and checked out on 4th day as she said she has to make a surgery in north india –

i requested yoga training for my kids with extra payment but was turned down saying they don't have anybody and the person who trains in morning is too busy

this was nevevr promised when the booking was confirmed and was clearly stated that in the week of the client’s visit the yoga instructor was not avaialble for extra visits other than the comitted classes

we donot have the policy to provide ‘’just anybody ‘’ for yoga , we would prefer to offer the best yoga instructor in the town and he is the one who comes to take classes for our clients as he has 20 years of experience of yoga

they talk about complimentary things....please donot get fooled
we wish all the very good luck to the honourable client who had to be requested repeatedly – to make the sample advance deposit even though in the terms & conditions it was vividly mentioned to make payment on arrival , it took 3 days to make a token advance by the client , [ i guess maiking the currency exchange would have took 3 days ]
by the fourth day of arrivalthe cleint was out of the resort citing medical reasons in north india and obviusly no weight loss happens in just 4 days !!
on behalf of one and all friom athreya ayurveda resort -we wish all the very best of health and happiness to the honourbale guest

Service was very good, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Simple but clean rooms, very nice setting with view onto paddy fields or gardens. Quiet. Good food. Very dedicated doctors, skilled therapists and therefore superb treatments. Went back the second time because of the quality of the treatments.

Athreya ia a place of authentic Ayurveda treatment done in a comfortable place that is very clean and peaceful.
the food is vegetarian but very tasty food.

The doctor attending me DR SREEJIT is very open to discussions on all medico personal issues and explained therapies well on a predictable course. He exibhited high levels of professionalism with a personal touch and shared his experiences of treating skin ailments frankly well in advance before coming for treatments

he is well supported by his wife DR JAYALAKSHMI as it is their family profession since 5 generations .

they manufacture their own medicines so quality of medicines is premium , the medicines are bitter in taste but worth it for cure !

the staff -medical and non medical are good , friendly ,sincere towards all clients.

people from all over world come here for chronic incurable ailments and are very satisfied but few meet failures also

I had very chronic skin ailment NOt responding to medicines in Britain for many years and i came here on a previous client's recommendation who was very satisfied with his cure from here . he inturn had come through his friend's recommendation from Canada

in 3 weeks treatment i got almost 95 % cured of my chronic ailment .This cure came as a blessing fro me.
i hope the results keep lasting

i will definetly recommend to my friends . GOD BLESS -team ATHREYA !

I went to Athreya for my skin problem psoriasis. The duration of my treatment was 3 weeks. On the third treatment day my whole body was covered with psoriasis. Dr. Sreejit told me that it was normal the inflammation gets worse in the first couple of days but he also didn't expect this big reaction. Dr. Sreejit put me on a strict diet en treatment schedule. At the end of treatment I was still covered with psoriasis. I took a lot herbs and oils back to home and continue the strict diet. After finishing my last herbs, the progression stagnated. Now, ten months later only my arms and upper legs are covered with psoriasis. I'm thinking to start a treatment in the hospital for these last body parts but the medication is very heavy. Dr. Sreejit can't send me extra herbs because it's not possible to send the herbs by post. This is maybe not a big succes story but I believe that if I didn't had this big break-out on the third day, then my psoriasis would be gone by now.
The treatment did have a positive effect on my artritis pains (muscles en tendons).

The doctor and staff are nice. The yoga classes were very good. The rooms were clean and the food is good. Internet connection is not good but they are working on betting a better connection.
