The hotel we stayed in Cochin did not serve alcohol and was empty. We decided to go elsewhere where there might be more life !
We walked to the hotel ( lovely walk through the town) and luckily managed to get a table outside for dinner.
It was full of western tourists ( the alcohol licence obviously attractive!) The food and the setting was magical, be warned there is water nearby, which attracts mosquitoes etc.
