“The charm of old Cochin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 weeks ago

For my third time in Cochin I wanted to try something else .For me Old Harbour was the best place to stay in Cochin. At the minute you arrive you felt back on time .The atmospher is very colonial ,garden beautiful and the food so good that in 4 days I never want to try a other restaurant.
For the accommodation I got a suite It was very spacious comfortable easy to reach.
The location also is great walking distance to Princess street and to,the colorful daily fish market.
I will go back .
Francoise from Arizona

Room Tip: The suite was wonderful

Location is excellent, in the middle of the old town, close to sights. Rooms are comfortable and full of colonial character. Not much space to relax in the hotel outside of your room, it's a common area between reception lobby and restaurant. Hotel forgot to send airport transfer leaving me to make my own way. This was rather inconvenient given that I landed 6am in the morning and tired. They made up for this inconvenience by offering a free dinner, plus my taxi from the airport was a lot cheaper then their transfer charges so not too bad a situation. Lovely atmosphere at dinner with live classical music. concierge was good at recommendations/bookings of activities. I would love to stay here again if it didn't come with such a high price tag.

Welcoming and relaxing. The Princess suite with four poster bed, sitting room and balcony were luxurious and well air conditioned. Gardens and pool delightful and choice of eating inside or out. Lovely to have breakfast individually served and not lukewarm buffet.

Room Tip: Princess suite! Up stairs however..

What a perfect place to stay. The location is ideal. The hotel is colonial in style, quite small with lovely rooms. The grounds are small but the pool and garden are lovely. A restaurant with outside dining offers a wide range of beautifully cooked food. The pool feels magical. Rooms have names not Numbers. The staff make you feel so welcome. Faultless

Room Tip: 'Napier' was a lovely room

We decided after three weeks on an Ayurvedic health retreat that Kochi would mark our re-entry into the world, and in theOld Harbour we could not have chosen better. This hotel is full of character and it oozes charm, helped by its prime location in lovely Fort Cochin.
The rooms are well-appointed, the beds comfortable, and the staff attentive to all questions and queries - a big thank you to Pablo, Vineethar and Sukesh.
Not only is the hotel lovely, the food served on the delightful garden is excellent, the kitchen produces and very successful fusion of Indian and European cooking.
This is the sort of hotel you don't really want to leave.

At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel.' A 300 year-old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel. Built in the Dutch style of architecture with hints of Portuguese influences, it was the first hotel of old Cochin. Later it remained a residential home to employees of English Tea broking firms until it was left unused for a period of time. ... more   less
