“Balinese Villa Luxury In Kochi”

We rented one of the two villas (and they are twin villas) for 4 nights during the peak December holiday season. Renters should know that these villas are managed by the boutique Eighth Bastion Hotel (another gem in my opinion) which is located 200 metres away.
The room service option for the villas is from the East Indies Restaurant at the Eight Bastion Hotel, the chef at this restaurant has some creations that belong in a Michelin starred restaurant in any major Western city: make sure you get the room service options from here or dine at the restaurant.
Villa: 2 full master bedrooms upstairs with their own outdoor seating area, king size beds, full on suite bathroom and room for up to two kids beds for those travelling with younger children. The bedrooms are spacious, fully air conditioned, equipped with a safe....basically has everything you could ask for in a luxury hotel including turndown service, and housekeeping at the drop of you hat.
The villa also has one additional bedroom downstairs with all the above amenities except the outdoor seating area.
The kitchen in the villa has everything you can think of and we did make use of the kitchen extensively during our visit, it did not have an american style drip coffee maker but the hyper attentive General manager took note of this.
The living room has a flat panel television, its own outdoor seating area, AC, lovely local art and photos. The dining room leads to the best part of the villa: the pool.
The pool was private enough to allow sunbathing, it was well maintained and long enough to get a few laps of swimming in i.e. it was not a small plunge pool.
Service: the staff for the twin villas are wonderful, helpful, efficient and are always around. They do an excellent job maintaining the villas and are there to cater to your every whim e.g. room service orders, food shopping from local markets, arranging transportation, local sightseeing tips, arranging for a personal chef, making reservations etc.
We look forward to returning to Beachgate in the near future, it is great to see that this type of villa accommodation is available in Kerala. I would say this is ideal for those seeking luxury and privacy (senior executives, celebrities etc).
I hope this company gets to expand this concept and open villas in more areas of India.

An oasis of sleek, understated style, this sensational fully-serviced villa offers a fresh and contemporary retreat in the heart of Fort Kochi. An unsurpassed location, sophisticated interior design, modern technologies and super-stylish interior combine with superb service and luxury amenities to ensure a worry-free vacation.

Generous living space and luxurious furnishings is the hallmark of this property. This villa is an attractive choice for the modern traveler seeking luxury, quality, comfort, freedom and unsurpassed privacy in idyllic surroundings in which to reflect, relax and unwind.

The overall architectural style while being modern, retains to the hilt the old world colinal charm. The interiors are beautifully furnished with exceptional quality mattress, linen and the likes. The kitchen is fully equipped and features with all modular based working platforms and high-end cookware and cutlery.

This luxury Villa is definitely one of a kind and a property my family and I would love keep going back to!!

The property is very close to the fort and to the beach. It offers privacy and you feel very comfortable when within the property. The service is good and we felt very comfortable with the amenities offered. There was cleanliness within the property and it was very well maintained. It is an excellent place for a large group or an extended family. The rooms are peaceful and the surrounding is calm and beautiful. The swimming pool was well maintained and cleaned. It was a great experience staying in this huge property. Would surely recommend for a different and grand experience.

“Couldn’t stop going wow!”

We recently made a trip to Cochin with my family – 5 adults, my 4-yr old niece and 18 month old nephew. To our dismay, our favourite hotel – 8th Bastion was sold out. That’s when they suggested that we try out Beachgate, their twin serviced villas that are a 5-10 minute walk from 8th Bastion. We decided to go with this option since we have always had awesome experiences with the hospitality at CGH Earth properties.

The twin-villas share a common compound, with a boundary wall between them for additional privacy. The villas have their own large, beautifully paved private gardens, with several trees teeming with birds and chipmunks, creating the idyllic setting for luxury in the lap of nature. Each villa has its own large private pool (not the typical splash pools that many resorts pass off as a private pool) with pool-chairs and a garden umbrella.

The villas themselves were built in 50s in British colonial style but have undergone a lot of modernization and renovation, thereby providing a perfect blend of old architectural charm and modern luxury. On the ground floor, there is a living room, bedroom, kitchen and dining room. The bedroom with twin-beds was ideal for my parents who were happy to avoid climbing stairs. The kitchen was really well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, electric kettle, food-processor, dish-washer, LPG stove and oven. For the culinary-inclined, you can even call for a chef from 8th Bastion to give you a cooking lesson! But the biggest wow for us was the dining room with full length glass walls facing the poolside…

The first floor has 2 large bedrooms, each with a private balcony. There is also a common open-air sit-out with a garden umbrella where we had our morning tea. For those who just cannot avoid working on their vacation, there is a work desk and wifi internet connection. I’ve already written about the high quality of furnishings and fittings at 8th Bastion and Beachgate was no different. The other common factor was the courteousness and hospitality of the staff; something that I’ve really come to cherish about the CGH group.

The bottom line:
Ideal for a family or large group (5-6 adults) who want privacy and independence, but don’t want to compromise on luxury. Very well suited if you have young kids who want to play around without disturbing other guests (that would happen in a regular hotel). The regular concierge services provided through 8th Bastion, add on services like a chef and masseuse on demand, bicycles and even an adorable resident pet – Doggy!

Some watchouts - the pool has a uniform depth of 1.2 meters so if you have kids, carry some inflatable floats. There is no television as yet, though we were told that it would be added soon.

“luxury, peace, tranquility”

This palatial house with its cool marbled floors and tranquil setting is in a leafy corner near Jewtown just moments from all the hubbub of Fort Cochins busy seafront. The retro building is more of a home than a holiday let, with a garden, pool and balconies to rest in the shade or lounge in the sun on. As to the owners' legendary hospitality, you never lack for attention to any whim you may have, no matter how trivial, your every wish is their command. We love this place, its setting and its family feel. Better than a home from home.
