We bought fish and prawns at one of the stalls where the Chinese Fishing nets are and one of the Restaurant workers ‘just happened to be there’. He told us if we bought fish and/or prawns his Restaurant would cook them and just charge for the cooking? He told us 159 Rupees for the fish and 150 Rupees for the Prawns. Seemed reasonable to us so off we go. We sit down and order drinks and salads as starters. The Prawns came next............I’d bought 17 (cause I counted them) of the large tiger prawns, yet only 12 turned up on our plates. I didn’t say anything and didn’t want to abuse a scene. Next was the fish.......and it looked great, with chips and salad etc. Only when we finished the top half of the fish and turned it over it was obvious they were just ripping people off. The bottom half of the fish just wasn’t there. You could see that it had been cut, filleted off and obviously sold to someone else. I called the waiter over, the same one who’d encouraged me to but them and have them cooked at his restaurant. He said that I must be mistaken and that we’d eaten it? Are you joking I said, you can see where it’s been cut. He said that they’d cut it and put it on top of the first half of the fish and that we’d eaten it. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I refused to pay. They knew what they’d done alright. I said if you have a problem we’ll go and speak to a policeman that was stood across the street. He muttered some obscenities and back he went. I didn’t pay. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE THIEVES AND CHEATS. On top of that the Restaurant was filthy.
