My wife and I spent a couple of nights at Silverweed and had a wonderful experience. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the prices reasonable, and the entire place clean and comfortable. To this day we still dream of the breakfasts—sitting out on the spacious balcony and being served the fresh juice, the coconut chutney, the idlii. We ordered their dinner one night, which seemed pricey until we compared the prices around Fort Cochin (not as cheap as the rest of India), and were delighted with the meal we received. If we're ever back in the area, we'll be staying here. (Sorry for the delay in reviewing).

We spent a wonderful few days at Silverweed. Our hosts were very welcoming and greeted us with delicious homemade pineapple juice. The rooms were very private, being tucked away upstairs and were absolutely spotless. The typical Keralan breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed a cooking lesson with Mrs Nair, learning how to make the best masala dosas ever! The location was perfect for us being a short walk or rickshaw ride from the centre. We hope to return soon, thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

Room tip: Although only advertised as having one A/C room, both rooms actually have it. One unit is less effective but still welcome in the hotter months.

We spent one night at Silverweed at the start of our trip to Kerala and it was the perfect introduction to the region, at a very reasonable price. It is centrally located in the heart of Fort Cochin, but on a relatively secluded street so not noisy.

Our room was clean and spacious and opened out into a delightful little garden balcony. One of the highlights was the delicious home-cooked meals served to us by our hostess, who, together with her son, also provided us with many helpful tips for our trip.

Highly recommended.

Almost afraid to share just how good the Silverweed Homestay is - because we would like to come back. Very comfortable and clean room. The service is of a high standard, nothing is too much trouble. ALL of the family members are a delight. The location is central to everything, with just a short walk to shops, restaurants, markets and the fishing nets. Lots of handy ferries if you wish to venture further. Will stay here again when visiting Fort Kochi.
(Thank you Krisha and family for a lovely stay.)

A wonderful entry to beautiful and relaxed Fort Kochi, Silverweed ticked every box. The home is off a quiet suburban street and the upstairs rooms are the guest rooms. The rooms have a private balcony with beautiful orchids carefully maintained by Sharyma. Waking up to the birdsong is delightful. But the stand out feature here is the hospitality and Sharmya's delicious cooking! She is an accomplished, inventive and dedicated cook who proudly states "nothing out of a can"! As well as a fabulous breakfast we ate there most nights as there were few comparisons to eating at the local restaurants. Krishna's family made us feel so welcome and my experience there is one of the main reasons that I'll be back.
