We loved our 3 night stay at the Old Lighthouse Bristow. We stayed in a garden view room, which despite being the cheapest room was lovely, light and spacious with a huge bathroom and bath if you were so inclined. The hotel itself has a lovely, old world charm and you can definitely feel the history being there, plus the location overlooking the sea just can't be beaten. I was very pleasantly surprised by the pool area, it is small and could benefit from a couple of extra pool lounges but it's impeccably clean and the setting amongst the garden is just gorgeous. We spent several mornings relaxing there and then sitting at the sea side lounge enjoying a couple of beers.
The food is also delicious, we ate there multiple times and everything was great. You can even get bacon for breakfast.
Lastly the service was awesome. For instance on our first night when we went to sit outside, our waiter followed us out to bring us insect repellent because of the mosquitoes. Super thoughtful. Everyone was like this, right up until we left, after enjoying the facilities for several hours after we officially checked out, at the staff's behest. My only critique would be that they need an extra staff member working the outdoor lounge in the afternoon because the poor guy doing that shift was run off his feet.
We enjoyed it so much, we're considering leaving our current accommodation and going back to the lighthouse for one more night. Highly recommended.
