Well that was a truly special experience, super chilled out, nothing to do all day every day only soak up the beautiful views and watch river life go by. Listening to the birds chirping, admiring the beautiful kingfishers, we just about had time for a village visit and an Ayurvedic massage. I would highly recommend to anyone if visiting India / Kerala.
We did the two night trip on the lakes and lagoons “indulge” “super luxury” boat (floor to ceiling windows in bedroom, outdoor seating and dining area, upstairs outdoor chill out area, huge en-suite with jacuzzi) and we’re so glad we spent the extra for this boat. It was beautifully decorated, it felt indulgent!
We’re also delighted we did two nights because we really felt like we got “off the beaten track” and cruised along waterways that were much quieter than the ones used by day trippers.
Our crew were fantastic- thank you Baby, Mobin and Manu. The food was so delicious!

*Prasanthy House Boats- Punnamade Jetty, Near Sai Training Center, Alappuzha, Kerala*

We stayed with Prasanthy House Boats from Dec 18 to 19 2022. Dec 17was my daughter's birthday and I had asked the owner Santhi Lal if I could bring in decorations to decorate the place while his team helped me to get the cake... with no hesitations did he agree to help me with the plan.

When we arrived at the boat house, he even surprised my daughter with a flower bouquet, and graced the cake-cutting with his family.

The boat was very well maintained. The crew was very friendly. My daughter bonded with them very quickly. They made us feel like a family. Since my daughter was only 3, they ensured that she had enough hot water for shower and her milk feeds (prepared even without me asking them). They took into consideration her level of spice when preparing the food. The chef's tea and coffee were to die for.

The alley boat ride, trip to the seafood market, massage pitstop, fresh coconut water are all experiences we won't forget.

We did not feel like we were guest on a holiday. My daughter did not want to leave the boat house.

Santhi Lal and his team gave my daughter and us a wonderful 3rd birthday experience.

Thank you for being so accommodating and welcoming.

A Houseboat is a fabulous way to see the kerala backwaters. We had a great time, but see below. An essential part of any trip to kerala

We used CGH and the boat was very nice with a heritage interior and exterior - some boats can be a tacky with plastic windows etc.

The service was great, and the food was great - although we could never have eaten everything that was provided it was so much. The guys we really friendly and helpful. Some parts of the route were a bit crowded, but generally we were by ourselves

One word of warning though. The interiors are nicely presented and cosy. However when it's hot and humid that means a stuffy night, or a noisy one with the air conditioning on. If we went agin we would use the same company and same boat, take the same route, but do it in a day and stay in our hotel overnight - we left at 12-30 and finished at 9-30.

The experience of feeling the alleppey backwaters and going in the house boat was so refreshing. The food served in the boat needs a special mention, the chef had cooked it amazingly. Thankyou for creating this memory🤩

It was a very good trip. The journey through the Vembanatu backwater and the small canal was mind-blowing. The service at KTIC HOUSE BOAT was very good. The food was good on the boat. Carp battered in banana leaf tasted awesome.
