Fantastic experience with Prasanthy Houseboats.

We spend 3 days / 2 nights in Kerala and had a fantastic time! :)
We were picked up from Cochin Airport and we stopped at a local restaurant for some breakfast. The driver then drove us to Allepey where we were greeted by our hosts, our houseboat and the manager of the company, Santhilal. After some cocunut water and some lunch, we set off touring the backwaters. We were able to stop to walk around some of the local villages, get a massage and have dinner on the boat.

On the second day, Santhilal drove us to Munnar and stopped at various landmarks along the way including a beautiful waterfall. In Munnar, we were able to visit the tea plantations and explore some of the local villages. We also caught a traditional martial arts and dancing show.

On the third day, we did a bit more exploring before Santhilal drove us back to Cochin airport for our onward flight.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and well worth the money!! We were looked after for every minute of the trip and the flexibility was great because it meant we got to see lots of different things.

I would highly recommend Prasanthy Houseboats and I really thank Santhilal for looking after us for our three days in Kerala :)

We went to Alappuzha for the backwater journey on our houseboat which was pre-booked. We reached in the afternoon on the bank of the river and went to our private houseboat. It was beautiful, clean and tidy. For 3-4 hours we sailed on the backwaters before coming to a halt in the evening.
Though sunny, the weather was not as humid. It was comfortable. The whole journey depicted the life of village people who live along the banks of the river. Huts, churches, shops are along the banks. Small boats are docked by the banks and are used for fishing by local people. There are restaurants and coffee shops where you can halt. Beyond the houses you could see the head covered farmers working on the green paddy fields. The coconut and mango trees are leaning over the river casting dark shadows as the sun sets.
We had an overnight halt on the houseboat and in the morning we went for morning walk to see the huts and the paddy fields.
We were served lunch, evening snacks, dinner and breakfast cooked by the staff of the boat. Food was authentic south indian and tasty. Staff members were very kind and friendly.
You will experience peace tricking down your heart when you go for the journey. The picturesque landscape will be imprinted for a long time in your mind.

As an International Travel and Tourism Specialist and Destination Adviser; I have selected this summer with my wife to share the Backwaters great experience and embark on a houseboat cruise from Backwater Ripples hotel pier. We cannot but to express our big pleasure and enthusiasm during this fascinating trip, exploring the lush greenery, the idyllic landscape and the remote villages all along. we have contemplated a unique scenery and highly recommend this trip to families, couples and holiday makers visiting India. It is a must of musts.

The houseboat that we got was not that great. I guess it was 'Rosey' (not sure though). The bed sheets were used and bathrooms were dirty. We were expecting some yum food but the cook was not that great. In fact the food was pretty bad. I would suggest to spend a little more and go for a nicer houseboat because you will have to stay there for an entire day and one night, in the middle of nowhere. So it is really should be comfortable.
