Stayed one night with wife and kids. Spacious room and good location. But rooms need much better maintenance. Toilet was terribly smelly. Room service food was terrific but breakfast was a huge disappointment. Hygiene was also lacking. The room service folks walked always without any footwear. Also the receptionist lady seemed clueless in general. No travel desk but very helpful in arranging taxi needs. Not worth the day rent, much better places at city centre instead.

Excellent, hygienic and quite place to dine. On weekend one can enjoy live music performance specially old Bollywood songs. One can easily spend few hours by listening to fantastic music. You will like visiting again and again.

Room Tip: Authentic Mangalorean Food

We come to India often and have many different experiences. The Moti Mahal in Mangalore is one of the good experiences. The service is so efficient. There are lots of choices to suit different budgets. Some of the things in our room weren't perfect but as soon as we asked for help it came. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and we were very comfortable in our Presidential Suite. Sure some of the hotel needs upgrading but they are working on that and it is worth it to put up with a little renovation to know that in the future we will stay here and it will all be done. The pool is a highlight but a suggestion would be to add a few sunloungers. I would have spent more time poolside if that had been possible. I suppose no one in India wants to sunbathe but it is one of my favourite things to do, lie by the pool and read a book and jump in for a swim every now and then. We also tried the restaurant Taj Chien on their seafood special nights and were very impressed. The staff again incredibly helpful, the prawns huge and delicious. Thanks for the good breakfasts too which were complimentary, very much appreciated.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2017 when i visited Mangalore for a wedding. The hotel is well located centrally. The staff are nice and friendly (particular mention is made of Ms Shruti a reception staff). Breakfast was nice and the attached South Indian restaurant served good food at very reasonable prices.
The only minus was that one reception staff (male) rejected my request for a slightly extended check out time.
I understand it could be policy but he could have been more considerate.
