I have been visiting this hotel as many times I have visited Mangalore. Firstly this hotel is a grand old hotel which still believes in an amazing system of room service and a bell which is placed next to your bed for any assistance. Once you press the bell, your phone will immediately ring asking for assistance. The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. The room prices are within the budget which makes it very convenient to stay. The hotel is centrally located within the city centre which makes going around very easy. The Restaurant serves mouth watering south Indian delicacies which are suitable to the pocket as well.Overall a very hospitable staff backed by really good room service and food.

Hotel keeps its charm by maintaining old style. However good it is, there appears a need to modernise. Service is good. Restaurant served leftovers, the sweet was stale. On pointing out, it was removed and alternate was supplied. But one such instance can spoil the evening for the guests. That’s what happened to me.

I have not stayed there but my relatives & friends always do. They say it is comfortable. It is at the heart of the city surrounded by GanEsh temples & lady's dresses (VasudEva stores) & a very good restaurant where snacks, ice creams etc are available always (Ideal cafe) on the right hand parallel rd & market rd where everything is available on the left hand parallel. Ideal cream parlour (diagonally opp on the left side) is a must try for hot Gaajar halwa with vanilla ice cream etc etc...
Food: Pongal is in the breakfast menu but they say it is only available at 7am. All the snacks, coffee, tea etc are good. Meals are served for lunch & dinner. There are 3 or 4 types of meals. Punjabi meals cost Rs 195 & have 1 sabzi, chenna & green gram dishes, all made in South Indian style. Please don't go for Punjabi food in any South Indian hotel if you are a North Indian. Paayasam is served. Chappatthy or phulka is served according to preference. Probably Poori is another option. The menu is the same always. An overcooked Methi panner & methi powdered rice with paneer fry which looks very unappetising. Chappatthy is soft & sweet & Citron pickle are good. onion pieces & 1 lijjat paappad are also kept.
Bombay meals for Rs 136 has soup & sweet along with whatever is available with South Indian meals except 1 banana & buttermilk water. Potato palya will make you want more & more. Chappatthys are soft. Citron pickle & sweet are good. 2 tbs of Yoghurt, 1 pappad. The last 3 items are not unlimited.
South Indian meals for Rs 124 has 2 red items (Sambar & Koottu), watery dal, chilli water called rasam, kurma (Good), chappaatthys , Pooris or Phuka, 1 banana, 1 buttermilk water, Citron pickle, 2 tbs Curd, payasam (small cup), 1 pappad. All items taste good. South Indians would love the taste & stay.

Recently I stayed in Hotel Srinivas when I visited Mangalore along with my family. The place is centrally and conveniently located in the busy street of Mangalore. The room rates are reasonably priced and there is a scope to improve the room outlook/ambience to go with modern amenities Service is good and their Padmashree Veg restaurant serves good food. .

Very near to Railway station. Very nice rooms. Food was fantastic. It seems like a popular dinner place. They serve very good vegetarian food. Quite clean AC rooms. Not very costly. Had gone to Mangalore for my daughter's add mission to the NIIT.
