This place sucks. First of all, it takes about an hour and a half to get to this place from Chikmagalur town. The road is in a terrible condition. There are no sign boards. We had to call them up every 5 minutes to ask them for directions. The reply was the same every time we called-"you are on the right path if u find banana and paddy plantations around you. It will just take 5 minutes to get here". We were exhausted and frustrated by the time we reached the place. We were greeted well but we were in for a shock. The standard room as they call it is terrible. There are 4 beds in a tiny room and the walls are old and dilapidated. I'm sure it's not been painted for a long time now. The room is cluttered and there is absolutely no place to walk around. The pictures shown on the website is totally different. Do not fall for it! We immediately walked out. You will find better holiday homes in Chikmagalur for lesser rates. This place is totally not worth the money and travel.

We had been to this place with another family and had booked a side-by-side villa. This is a great place for group of families to come together and enjoy. The rooms are well maintained, the bathroom was beautifully different. The rooms are located in the middle of coffee plantations and one can hear buzzing sound cicadas in the evening. The food is ok, we enjoyed the live dosa counter overlooking the deep valleys. The camp fire was arranged in the evening and tables were put around it so that people can enjoy there food and drinks in the open. It was very good. There was a sight seeing arrangement and visited some river stream and falls near by. One should plan to go in the right season and it can be very hot and humid in the summer. The only thing I didn't like here was some dogs in the property which were let loose and roaming around. We went to take morning pictures in the wee hours and hot chased by these creatures back to room. Seeing that as a another fun chase , this place is worth a visit for families in the right season.

Well - The first impressions of this resort on the website were very good and I decided to give it a try too for our picnic trip in Sep 2011. The resort was pretty hard to find and proper directions could have been better. Nevertheless - the resort people were giving us a good guidance through the phone. The resort, like any retreat is situated pretty far away. Really far away from the reach of the common population. Good 1 - 1.25 hours drive from Chikmagalur proper town. The resort has 4 glass houses (with indoor swimming pool), 3 Waterfall villas (indoor artifical waterfalls - nice option to stay), two Sky walk villas (you will walk on thick glass in the balcony), four tree houses (well - good 500 metres away from the common area and you have only curtains to cover the three sides of your bathroom - you bathe in the wild - with or without dress - you decide, but nevertheless - perfect for loneliness seeking couples - wont be so lonely though - you will get insects for company - but then you do have the nets), executive villas (with wooden swings and nice verandah) and the normal cottage houses. Being the organizer of the trip I had to check in detail each and every room and facility and interact with the staff to attend to all problems from my colleagues. The rooms dont have a TV or an intercom facility. Nor do the offer Room service - It is a home outside home concept. Given the vast spread the resort has - you have to walk a good 10 minutes to reach the reception. And you will loose good amount of calories each time you walk. - cause its a 30 degree upward slope on the way back to your rooms - every time you walk. It can get tiring some times given the point that you will have to need their service each and every time. But then their solution is that they give a mobile number and we call that number for any assistance. Cool - However - it doesnt work all the time. but still worked 80% of the time for me. Now for the common traveller - it is already an irritant to see that you dont have room service and when the mobile doesnt respond in terms of service in time even it might be a little late - you get pissed off! However - they managed to put up a good show in the end. But as an advice - pls choose the top Glass House villas. They are really the best. With indoor swimming pools - They have an amazing view of the valley and you have an awesome experience watching the sun rise and the fog clear off giving a view of the valley in the morning the moment you wake up and open your eyes! The other rooms - well i wouldnt say that they would be worth 100% worth the money you spend and the visit you do. The short trek in the early morning they offer is wonderful and rejuvenating. ..The food - ought to improve in terms of taste and quality. For avid travelers - they won't complain much, but then - for family and people who insist on very high quality of food - it will be a deterrent. The problem is that they do not offer variety. And you would have to specify well in advance on what sort of food you need. The tree house should also be a very good experience for couples especially. (well it would certainly help if your girlfriend/wife is not fussy about sleeping midst insects and too fragile)...Tree house is definite must for adventure seeking couples. It has three rooms - the steps on the way upto the tree house needs to be carefully treaded upon. Overall the resort gets 6 out of 10. 6 marks for the location, the sports facilities they have - very good volleyball court - but you have to take the risk of falling down - the floor is very slippery and the badminton court too is very good. The meeting hall can be converted to a sort of party hall - if your group is big and you will have to make sure they say yes to this request well in advance otherwise - the evenings will be a bonfire for the common group - all guests and you might lose your privacy. They also do arrange speakers. The walk down from the resort will lead to a lake - which offers opportunity for fishing and boating. Fishing - well your luck might coincide into you catching a big fish! And if you want to try out other adventure activities - they have tie ups...A good 2.5 hours ride will take you to a rafting spot on the banks of river tunga. We did it and inspite of the long drive we undertook and the waiting time of 1 hour - it was a n unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: The Glass house stay will give you 100% value for money. other rooms will leave you disappointed. Do...

To start with, this resort is over 55 kms from Chicmangalur. The drive from Bangalore to the resort is tedious(roads from Hassan is bad).I must comment that the view from the resort is quite beautiful, but that's all there is to the resort.Food, cottage and amenities are below expectation.Staff looks lost.Although the pictures in the site looks quite tempting, let me warn you......There is nothing to do all day.You would be staying so far from the tourist attractions of Chicmangalur, that you would've wished you'd never come. The coracle ride that the resort promises,is such a turn off and so is the fishing experience.

Room Tip: Tree House ain't bad

We (two families comprising of 2 adults and 2 kids each) stayed at the Eagle Eye Holidays for two days and one night.
We had opted for Standard Rooms since the other rooms were not available. The package consisted of the Welcome drink, Fishing, Coracle Ride, Plantation Walk, Bird Watching, Forest Trek and Indoor & Outdoor games

Positives
1. Excellent view with lots of greenery all around comprising of coffee, spices and medicinal plants
2. The plantation walk and the forest trek were impressive
3. The coracle ride lifted our spirits and was enjoyable for all especially the kids

Areas of improvement
1. Proper directions to the resort. The only sign board we see is a couple of Kilo Meters closer to the resort. We ended up making many calls to get to the place.
2. While the website talks big about the facilities and activities, the reality is far from the description. The fishing pond is a long walk from the cottages and is restricted to them providing wheat flour and bamboo stock as the fishing rod. River rafting is a good 30 Kms from the resort
3. While the food was O.K., it was limited to few choices
4. No housekeeping department worth mentioning. While the staff were friendly, they clearly lacked the professional grooming expected from a good property

Others
On checking into the room we observed that it was full of honey bees. Despite the alarm raised by us the management took their own sweet time for clearing them.
The resort location is far from Chikmagalur and is away from the places of interest.

This property has good potential to grow, thanks to the scenic location and associated greenery. However drastic improvements have to made inorder to position themselves as a good resort.
