Shrimath Yoga was my first experience of India and of yoga in its pure and traditional form - I couldn't have asked for anything better. Before you sign up, I suggest you take note of the following: This experience is NOT for you if you expect a luxurious retreat with some cocktails thrown in - you are committing to full time study, vegetarianism, celibacy and village life. All 8 limbs of yoga are covered, along with yoga nidra, karma yoga, bhakti yoga, mantras, mudras and kriya. Anyone hoping to do "yoga gymnastics" exclusively had better look elsewhere. Upon completion of the course, I feel confident that I have a good understanding of the principles and processes of Hatha Yoga, a solid basis to deepen my personal practice both physically and spiritually, and the ability to convey this knowledge in the teaching of students. I leave Shrimath Yoga with nothing but gratitude and praise for Krishna and his team. He went out of his way to make sure everybody was taken care of above and beyond his duty - nursing a colleague who arrived injured and assisting us with travelling arrangements. Personally, at times I found the diet to be very carb heavy, but delicious nonetheless. The end of the course culminated in a visit to Shringeri - unforgettable. This experience has been life changing, humbling and eye opening. Thanks Krishna and Shrimath Yoga, this will definitely not be my last...More
