Practising and learning to become a yoga teacher, at Shrimath, was an extremely interesting experience for me. Besides yogasana (yoga postures) and pranayama taught by Hema, Krishna imparted knowledge on the holistic aspects of yoga as a lifestyle, a brief glimpse into spirituality, mantra, yoga nidra and meditation....making the course special. Working in the garden at Shrimath, interacting with the school children, various tasks of housekeeping....all these activities which apparently involve multiple chakras was a novel angle (for me at least) built into the course. The discipline in the daily routine, the stress on conservation, Gandhian style of living /cleaning, the rural quiet surroundings, very tastefully prepared 'satvik' food by Shobha....all of this lead to an unforgettable 21 days.
