Practising and learning to become a yoga teacher, at Shrimath, was an extremely interesting experience for me. Besides yogasana (yoga postures) and pranayama taught by Hema, Krishna imparted knowledge on the holistic aspects of yoga as a lifestyle, a brief glimpse into spirituality, mantra, yoga nidra and meditation....making the course special. Working in the garden at Shrimath, interacting with the school children, various tasks of housekeeping....all these activities which apparently involve multiple chakras was a novel angle (for me at least) built into the course. The discipline in the daily routine, the stress on conservation, Gandhian style of living /cleaning, the rural quiet surroundings, very tastefully prepared 'satvik' food by Shobha....all of this lead to an unforgettable 21 days.

Shrimath's Yoga 200 hour Teacher Training was a demanding thorough course that challenges you mentally and physically but prepares you well to be a competent instructor to teach others the finer points of correct yoga techniques . All aspects of Traditional Indian Hatha Yoga were presented and practised to ensure full knowledge and the capability to be able to demonstrate to classes. Regular early feedback could be improved so as to know strengths and weaknesses sooner to address specific personal areas for improvement. Am considering further classes and training in the future so as to consolidate personal skills to pass on to my own students. Overall, the course expects and provides high level skills and knowledge.
My Vegan and Gluten free diet was kindly and considerately catered for, and my early arrival before the course was also accommodated. I am very grateful for the experience and all that I learned during my time at Shrimath.

I can really recommend Shrimath to everybody. If you wish to get a serious yoga teacher training (I did the basic 200 hours), learn more about yoga than postures, get into Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Mantra Chanting, become aware of yourself, live in simplicity on an eco-farm in a rural environment far away from hectic city life, plan daily activities with kids from a local school, learn in a small group with a maximum of 10 students, make trips to holy places or Ashrams...
this is the place to be

Thanks for an authentic experience at Shrimath Yoga. I grew a lot within those 21 days thanks to all the knowledge sharing, kriyas, asanas, pranayama and meditation.
Especially the trip to the Ashram in Tamil Nadu and the meeting of Swamiji, I will keep in special memory. Thinking of going back again for more Yoga. Hope our way will cross again sometime.
All the best!
