Don't go by the name you will not get much of sea food or Mexican food :D. But really a nice place for north Indian food.

The restaurant is built on theme of 'Pirates of Caribbean'. This is the first time when I have been to a theme restaurant. Really this place will remind you captain Jack Sparrow's famous ship the Black Pearl.
Ambiance was good, the cost is reasonable and food was awesome.
Even though there were very few options in main course I liked all of them. I am a veggie so cant rate on Non veg food. For us it was team lunch and I felt its a good place for corporate lunch or dining as well as for party with friends.

Good thing is even its a buffet, welcome drink and starters (which were delicious) they serve on table. they serve chapati-es too on table. Service was excellent. One of the tastiest food I had in Bangalore was in 'Black Pearl'.

This restaurant is new (2-3 months old) and is located in center of kormangla. We went for a buffet on saturday afternoon. I was surprised about the restaurant infrastructure, The theme is completely about pirates of carribean, right from the costume of the waiters to the skeleton chair, doors , table etc. so, its quite dark inside. Service was excellent and very friendly. They take care about each single detail. Food is good. They serve the welcome drink and starters at your table, similar to Barbecue Nation. Starters are good more than the main course. Surprisingly, they have many varities for dessert not just 2 or 3. Cost is similar to other restaurants. Good place for team lunch/dinner too.

I decided on taking out the family to Black Pearl for my son's 11th birthday. I had been looking around for a good place for around 2 weeks, when I came across this restaurant in Koramangala.

Although it was a bit of a distance (we live in HRBR Layout), it was worth the time and effort. The theme really blew the kids away, and everyone enjoyed the way the restaurant was set up. The blueberry mocktail was a hit.

The starters were similar to Barbeque Nation, but was less spicier, and so the kids enjoyed it more. The only downside with the starters was that we didn't have much of a clue on how many different types of starters were available, and even the staff didn't seem to have a clear idea (although, I admit that it could have just been they didn't understand English too well). The overall opinion of the rest of the buffet was that it was quite spicy. The desserts were varied and most of them were quite enjoyable

All in all, we really had a good time. We were a reasonably large group (about 13 adults and 2 kids), but since we reached the place by 12:30 pm on saturday, we were the first ones there, and that meant that we got the undivided attention of the entire staff.

This is a "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed restaurant in Koramangala, where the theme stops with the decor and the uniforms of the waiters - the food, the drinks and the music for example had _nothing_ to do with pirates in general or this series of films in particular. Some of the props are cheap-looking barely-there imitations of what you'd expect. If you're a fan of this series of films, you'll very likely be disappointed.

You'll also be disappointed if you're a food-lover or a value-for-money kind of person - the food served was so "meh" and the price charged for it was therefore atrociously-high. At the very least, they should improve the quality of the food or reduce the price they charge for it.

In short, there's no reason for going to this place unless you have run out of all other options or want to experience the novelty of a less-than-half-hearted attempt at creating a pirate-themed restaurant.

My wife and I were lounging at home on this lazy Sunday afternoon trying to decide a restaurant to try out for dinner. We referred to Zomato's top 25 restaurants' list to decide the same. On number 3 we found 'The Black Pearl'. The ranking was good enough for us to make our decision and hence we did not bother with checking the details and reviews (and I'm glad we did not). We arrived at the restaurant early in the evening at around 7:10 PM not knowing what to expect and got our first hint of what to expect right at the elevator on the ground floor with a slightly larger than life statue of a pirate set up their to presumably welcome the guests.

What followed was a pleasant surprise when it comes to in-restaurant settings. The pirate theme that The Black Pearl boasts of is surely something of a novelty. The restaurant is spread over two floors, the third floor of the building is named 'Pirate's Cove' and the fourth floor (a roof top setting) named 'Pirate's Ship'. They open the Pirate's Cove mostly during lunch time and the pirate's ship is operational for dinner service. The entire floor is decked up in very cliché pirates paraphernalia which is great cause it conveys the concept and thought to the patron in an instant. The lighting is elegant for most part with a few nooks and corners being lighted in psychedelic blues, reds and greens. The seating is arranged like a deck of a ship. The staff dons pirate uniforms too. The uniqueness of the concept goes a long way in setting your mood in the right spirits.

The meal concept is modeled around what you get at Barbeque Nation. The key difference being that you can go for an ala carte meal as well as the buffet. We chose the buffet (a veg and a non veg). The buffet starts with a 'grill on the table' spread of starters. There are five of veg starters and five of non veg. However if both are being served at a table (like ours), the person going for the non vegetarian buffet can have the vegetarian starters as well. Which means by the time you are done with the starters you have sampled 10 different starters. That is quite a gastronomical assault. The starters were all great and we enjoyed them. Given the spread of the offering, this is a great option for one of those evenings when you are in for a long meal spread at least across a couple of hours.

The buffet layout consists of about 4 options in veg and same in non veg along with the salads and soup. This is quite enough after the sumptuous spread of starters. Taste wise, the food may not be absolutely top of the chart but the ambiance more than makes up for it. Having said that, the food is not disappointing by any means. The preparations are fresh and tick the right boxes when it comes to texture (softness, crispness, smoothness) and flavor (spiciness, sweetness). Just that none of the dishes are remarkable enough to leave a mental aftertaste. The kind of stuff that stays with you even after you are done with the meal.

One thing that does stay with you is the experience and what adds tremendous value to the experience is the live music. They have live music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The singers take requests from the audience and add a lot to the mood of the evening. The black pearl definitely has more to offer to the patron than the average restaurant. It offers an evening, an experience for you to ruminate on. And the price at which this experience is offered is quite incredible for the entire package.

My recommendation is that get in early in the evening (around 7:15 PM). That way you get a choice of seats and you don’t need to rush through the meal. You can enjoy a lazy meal for a couple of hours or even more. I am surely coming back to this place. And I hope and pray that, as so happens in so many places that start on a high, time does not erode the quality of time that one can have here.
