This is a nice hotel out in the country, a bit over an hour from the main city of Bangalore. It's a little difficult to reach, but the hotel can give good directions. Some of the roads are in poor condition and so you bounce quite a bit getting there.
Once there though, it's easy to forget about the ride. This is a paradise built in the middle of a mostly agricultural area.
As you're quite some ways from anything, you mostly rely on the hotel for bottled water, meals, etc. They are very accomodating, and we found the service and response excellent. As there are only 9 rooms, the menu is fixed from day to day, but had enough variety to please us -- Americans somewhat used to Indian food. They had continential as well as indian options, and veg as well as non-veg.
For us, it was a good option - we were going to a large conference at Jakkur airfield, but didn't want to stay in the more expensive city hotels. This gave us 4 star luxury in a much better price range ($80-$150, depending upon room or suite).
Our suite was very large, with an amazing shower that was probably 8'x8', hand tiled in an artistic fashion from unique shapes of tile and mirror. Our room had two A/C units and kept the place cool. The contstruction is unique - brick/concrete mostly, with slab granite ceilings! Enough windows so that it was lit well.
Massage is available although we didn't partake. Adjacent is an international dance academy, Nrityagram. Their web site actually had the best directions (---) although they tend do de-emphasize how far it is from the Kumtur turnoff (about 40 minutes drive).
