Owner description: The Bangalore Palace was the private residence of the royal Wodeyar family. Built to resemble Windsor Castle, this quirky palace is filled with an interesting and eclectic collection of art and paraphernalia from a bygone era. The palace grounds are a popular venue for rock concerts and other music events.

Be prepared to kick off your shoes and that you're feet are in good shape to walk across hot stone and sand as you're not allowed to wear shoes inside the palace. The views outside and inside the palace are awe inspiring. All that gold and the artwork! Went with mom sis and cousin, wish we had paid for a tour so we could understand more but it was great to just see a part of living history and the opulence of one of the royal family in India. Crowded, if you like history this is definitely worth the trip. Be prepared for a bit of discomfort though and crowds.

Very cool palace in the heart of the city. It's set back from the noise of the city so you almost are surprised this is in Bangalore. Price is fair, even though you have to pay an additional fee to take pictures. Audioguide is good and comes with your ticket. You get to see a lot of the palace and it's much more hands-on than most places would let you be. No furniture in any of the rooms any more, though. A little run-down but definitely gives you a true historical feel.

An exhibition of wealth and vulgarity beyond the borders of sanity while the subjects languished in harsh poverty. The greatest divide between the ruler and his subjects ever!

The horse ride around the palace is nice. Usually there are some exhibitions or shows going on here so it's good for a weekend 3-4 hours tour
