“Decent place with great service!”
Reviewed 21 April 2012

The resort location is not far from the city but the last 1km is a bit tricky.. the resort is green and pleasant. basic amenities - swimming pool, indoor games are good.. outdoor sports - cricket, volleyball amenities are ok..
Food and service was the best part about the resort. the manager is a gem of a person and his hospitality team is willing go that extra distance to ensure your visit is fun and memorable.

Eagle Ridge Ressort is a very comfortable and homely "home away from home". The room is gigantic by Western Standards and huge by Indian ones. Our room had a living room which opened to the bedroom. All the furniture was antic and well maintained. The bed linen was clean as well as the entire Ressort. The Restaurant has an amazing view over the greenery and the inviting Pool. The food can be summarised by just one word - delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful with all individual requests. The Manager, Mrs. Suraiya is extremely competent and did everything possible to make our trip a success, which it was. After a long Tour of South india it was a perfect place to relax.

I had difficulty in booking at Eagle Ridge as no on-line facility exists, and my e-mail to the office bounced (full mailbox), so I wasn't even sure the resort was operational. However, having made a recce visit a couple of nights before we needed to move in, I was convinced we would have a great 2 nights at the Lodge. On arrival we were most courteously received by the manager with a complimentary drink while the formalities were dealt with. The suite allocated to us had a lovely lounge/dining area with polished stone floor in part of it and new laminate in the rest. There was a TV with satellite box, but we couldn't get any English news programmes. There was no internet in the room, and when we tried the office computer to do our on-line airport checkin, it was really slow and eventually crashed out.
We had the choice of 2 bedrooms - one with double bed and a view of the septic tank, and the other with single beds and view of a building being erected 3 metres beyond. We took the building site view! Other private buildings crowd the site and this new 2-storey one is only 2 feet from the boundary line.
The Bathroom was, frankly, poor, with out of date fittings, blackened sealant around the basin, hot water on shower only (and then it took 10 mins to get any hot) a shower rose which was almost completely blocked, and only one medium size towel provided per person.
Beds were clean and comfortable, extra pillows were provided and we had reading lights in the room we chose. Loads of wardrobes, but the doors wouldn't stay shut, and a minisafe, but this could not be made to work correctly so we couldn't use it. The room need redecoration.
There was a fridge and kettle in the dining area but only one socket. Upon request, we got some beer and tonic water put in the fridge, which, once it was plugged in, worked fine. Mineral water was complimentary.
The pool itself looked great and I was dying for a swim. It is a "normal" pool where the water level is 6" or so below the rim. The pool surround area needs some repairs. The water was nice and clear, and warm enough, but due to the large amount of trees around the whole site, there was quite a lot of small debris in the water, which got in my hair, and then I couldn't use the shower to get it out! The changing rooms were full of stuff, no lockers, very basic toilets - well below average I would say. Towels were provided upon request. I think it's a full-time job keeping a pool clean in the Indian climate. There was a noticeable amount of algae on the walls of the pool the day we left - but then there was nobody else staying at the resort at the time. The furniture and "objets" around the pool were a bit rickety and needing repair, though there were some mattresses if you wanted to lie in the sun.
The Sunday lunch buffet, served in the splendidly situated restaurant overlooking the lush garden and pool, was under way when we had dried out from swimming. There were quite a number of locals having lunch with their kids after swimming. The non-veg dish, chicken pieces, was, although in a delicious sauce, quite without meat on the bony joints left in the pan.The veg dishes were fine, however and you could have as much as you wanted. Cauliflower Manchurian was particularly good!
Breakfast got off to a rocky start: my wife just wanted toast and jam, while I thought a fried egg would be nice. I would have a coffee with milk, while she would have tea with a Twinings bag of a variety she prefers. This was decided the night before, and repeated and agreed with the waiter in the morning, yet we ended up with two plates, each with two fried eggs on them, rather too runny to be considered properly cooked. The coffee was served in a large plunge cafetiere and was thin and pale, and there was no solids of coffee in the pot! I am not sure if they had used instant and diluted it far too much or if they had boiled and strained the coffee into the pot unnecessarily. I explained that this was undrinkable, and a smaller quantity of stronger coffee came back, though still without any coffee solids in the pot. The toast was great, and jam was straight from the shop jamjars, like at home. The following morning, I again tried for a fried egg (one) cooked a bit more, and I got it..... but it was cold and I think had been cooked the night before as it had a hard skin to it.
While we were waiting to be served breakfast, 15 minutes, although we had said what time we wanted it, and there were no other customers, we watched a squirrel attacking some nuts on a feeding station, and listened to some large birds singing in one of the palms. It's such a lovely spot - it just needs more customers and renovating where appropriate.
--- Oh, and the other problem is that none of the taxi drivers know where it is, so the only way we found of getting there was using an Android phone with GPS and rolling maps.

Room Tip: The builders chatter incessantly at full volume, once they come to work. We forgot to slide the wind...

Dear Mr. Shariff,
On behalf of my group I would like to convey a 'Big Thank You' from the core of my heart for the wonderful reception and hospitality that we got at your resort. We enjoyed every bit of the stay at the Eagle Ridge Resort. The food was very good and we all relished it at the fullest of our satisfaction. Only thing we didn't get much area to roam about and explore the place as it has been narrowed by the innumerable cottages that you have constructed.
I was not aware of the fact that someone in our group had brought some food from outside. I'm extremely sorry for that. Wanted to meet you when we came out but you were not there.
Thanking you once again
Mrs. Roy

This comes towards Bannerghatta, Bangalore, we had some trouble getting there but we finally decided to take a auto which cost us 200/- from Meenakshi Temple on bannerghatta road. It is kind of a gated community with some beautiful houses and in one corner of the property lies the resort.

there are a couple of options to choose from and the people at the reception are very helpful, I think it is run and managed by foreigners. The food is good but a bit expensive, the rooms near the reception are done up beautifully but cost around 3k for 2 rooms and a sitting room (5/5). i think normal cost is 4k. the rooms away from the reception are around 2k to 3k but are a bit old (3/5). We stayed there for a day and then got our room transferred.

it is a good weekend getaway for friends and couples away from blore just to laze around and spend some quality time together. We had good fun.

Other then the fact it is a bit away from the city it is a good place for weekend getaways or team outings.
