“Nice but aging”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2011

Ivory is conveniently located almost at the junction of Brigade Road and M G Road within Barton Centre.
The rooms are very large and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. At the price, I think this is very good value. A separate work and dining area is a big bonus for any quick meetings and discussions.
However, the hotel is showing its age, in terms of the fittings and the amenities. If upgraded will be one of the very good options in Bangalore for the business traveler. The other small problem is since its in a mall/office complex, you need to drag your luggage to the lift from your car/taxi yourself.

What does one require from a hotel? Cleanliness, comfort, friendly service, good food, great location. The Ivory Tower has all these.

My wife and I have been using this hotel for many years whenever we go to Bangalore. The hotel is on the 13th Floor of a business and shopping complex; right in the centre of bustling Bangalore on M.G. Road. On the 13th floor is Ebony, amulticultural, multy cuisine restaurant. Ebony is the reataurant for the hotel. You can either eat in the hotel, or as we mostly do,have room service.

The hotel is comfortable, but not pretensious. There is A/C. TV, and each room as a seperate dining area, where we frequently entertain friends.

It is fabulous and not over priced at Rs.4,000/- considering that it is in the centre of Bangalore with access to all the many attractions of this vibrant city.

Go for it; not the most luxurious we've stayed at, but one of the best.

With the Devanahalli airport eons away, and a menacing traffic add the metro chaos into it and you have a Oh Oh notion in your mind if a trip to Bengaluru is coming up. While there is little you could do about the airport distance, unless coming from Chennai or down south, trains are indeed a better option. Boarding is something if you can arrange sensibly, the trip may actually turn out to be a pleasant one. One such hotel is the Ivory Towers in Bengaluru situated on the 12th floor of the Barton centre. Little is known about this hotel as there are hardly many rooms. Neatly priced, and located bang ON the MG Road...you have everything in your fingertips. From great food either roomservice or right up on your ceiling on the 13th floor, Ebony... There is shopping as you come out of the lift on the MG road, cinema complexes around, Hard rock cafe and bowling at Amoeba right behind the complex. With conveyance round the clock at such a centrally located place, even business activities are comfortably done. As for the rooms, they offer cool views of the M.Chinnaswamy temple, the parade ground and from some rooms face the UB city. There are better hotels in Bengaluru no doubt...but not with these many benefits!

I cannot agree with the others that have reported this hotel as a great value. While the rooms were very spacious, I felt they were very dated and the not clean. My business associate felt the same way and actually said he slept in his clothes. The view from the lounge is fantastic and the atmosphere was vibrant. However, I would not recommend this hotel.

Its one of those hotels which give u a feel of a guest house or a service appartment .. Although the rooms are spacious, they are old .. they dont have 24 hr room service and the noise from their pub on the next floor does not let u sleep before 12 .. The good part is that it is located in middle of the commercial area but if at all u go then go there with less expectations !!
