“Very organized trip to nature park”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

On the weekend of a business trip, I visited the safari park using the regular service provided locally.
It is good to be there early in the morning, so it will still be no too hot. However, there is some waiting included. Ticket office opens after 9 a.m., and then all people who buy entrance for the safari trip are lined up neatly in waiting houses - each one big enough that all people sitting there will enter into one of the caged mini-buses.
Tourists were seated directly behind guide and driver. In the visit to the park, we saw deer, bufalos, lions, tigers, white tigers, bears, monkeys and other animals. This is not the siye of a real natural park, Rather, the visit is like what we call in Europe a Safari park - each species have their own, big, territory, so much larger than in a zoo, but still they are not like in their natural environment. You pass with the minibus through iron gates and fences.
The animals are visible - at least all of them were in our morning trip - but it seemed like somenone had woken up the lions and pushed out of their house just before the bus came by.

Anyway, it is worth going there, since you see really big and impressive tigers and lions.

On the way back, at the end of the tour, you can also visit a little garden with a buttefly park. This is also worth visiting.

The zoo you can enter also with the ticket, but this is just an ordinary zoo with sometimes not so nice places for the animals.

“not clean no proper maitainance and they have increased the rate also”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

tiger safari is nice but very long wait to get in the coach the park is a big place the government can do better in maintaining the park or learn from mysore zoo. this zoo in mysore is better than bannerghatta national park people who go to mysore make a point to go to mysore zoo. the forest department should take the step of adoption of animals in the national park. this scheme has helped mysore zoo in developing and maintaining the zoo properly. even the banarghatta national park authorities should also implement these scheme and make better utilisation of space availabel in the national park. instead of useing this scheme the department has increased the rates and burdened the commen tourist which use to visit the park

“Go for the Safari”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

The zoo is okay, dont miss the giant squirrel, leopards and bears. The best part is the safari. Lot of deers, lions and tigers can be seen. They halt for ample time for you to take pics. Safari cars are well secured. Advice -- reach early on the day (weekend especially), else long queues can make you wait for hours. Start with the safari and then the zoo.
You can take your own food. Its closed on Tuesdays.

“Good place for couple of hours on week end”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

It is a great place for an outing of few hours on a week end. Even though it s called a national park but it is more like a large zoo. The safari takes you through enclosures which contain tigers, lions and bears.

There is a smaller enclosure that is called zoo and has assortment of animals.

“More signboards than animals”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Much talked about zoo is now getting worse. Most animals are unhealthy or diseased. Many enclosures are empty too. Very badly maintained.
