“Hotel Chube is Very Good Hotel”
Reviewed 17 September 2012

Hotel Chube is very good place to stay in leh.
Hotel Staff is very good.
And Very green location.
We were 2 couples visited this property between 10 to 13 September . I must say ,that this is surely one of best places to stay in Leh city . I must mention Mr - Rigzin who treats their guests like their own family members . Hotel staff is also very good and friendly. Overall property is very nice fully filled with innovative ideas of Mr - Rigzin. There is a small "Mane"(ladakhi word for a prayer wheel) which keeps on rotating with pleasent water stream. Hotel structure is beautiful with brilliant touch of Ladakhi architecture . This property has well maintained vegetable garden and beautiful fauna maintained just opposite reception . Rooms are nice and spacious. Food is good but I felt is bit exorbitant . Morning breakfast was good . Mr - Rigzin quickly arranges for hot water on request . Mr Rigzin is gem of a person who is always ready to give his helping hands. Offered us snacks and Mr Rigzin guided us all the way to a new property and he made sure that we are comfortable . Many few people might be knowing this but Mr - Rigzin was part of 32 volunteers from Leh who headed all the way to Draas to help Indian Army in Kargil war . We got to know him much better after our interaction with him at camp fire. According to me , you will take a lot of fond memories back home after staying in this property and interacting with such beautiful people. Highly recommended place to stay in Leh

I stayed at hotel Chube with my friend from 10 August 2012 to 15 August 2012. We chose this hotel after reading reviews from trip advisor site. We had a good experience staying at this hotel. The hotel has a homely environment with all the necessities. Our room was at the first floor. Room was neat and clean. From the first floor balcony, the view was pleasant with the green august landscape, bright sun, clear blue sky and the view of the distant mountains.

There is a small vegetable and flower garden and a small stream within the hotel premises. Sitting in the open space beside the garden late in the evening was quite relaxing.

Local market is at a walking distance from the hotel. Airport is 10 minutes drive from Chube.

The hotel is run by Mr. Rigzin. He helped organise/economise our trip itinerary and helped arrange the necessary permits. He arranged our transport and our stay at Nubra. I had mild acclimatization problem. Mr. Rigzin advised me to see a doctor and himself drove me to a hospital where I was administered oxygen and medicine. I was fine after that.

Overall, I had a warm and homely experience at Chube. Our stay was special due to the good hospitality provided by Mr. Rigzin. The hotel is highly recommended.

My husband and I were on a 9 day trip, and booked the Chube for multiple dates, based on good reviews we read here. The first day we were there, we love the little veggie garden, the apple tree, the owners and the staff. It turned into the worst hotel/ home stay EVER the next morning. They received a group the previous night, and obviously could not cope up. When we asked for tea in the morning, we were asked to come get what we wanted, which we did of course, but the owner was plain nasty. She treated us like errant, lazy school kids who needed disciplining.

She yelled at us to wait for tea after we had already waited 30 mins, she yelled when we asked her to give us one more bucket, she yelled at us when I asked her how we could have a bath with only 20 minutes of hot water left, and then she yelled at us some more. I had to remind her that we were on vacation, and too grown up to be bossed around.

Thankfully, we left the next morning, only to come back 3 days later from Nubra, back to this crazy place, with the same issues all over again. We left again, and came back a day later for 1 more night. All hell broke loose here, as we booked a deluxe room and were given a standard. Our driver accidentally grazed their battered car, and they SLAPPED him, yelled at us, even sent the staff to demand money for 2 bottles of water we took, at 11 pm. The lady owner whacked me on the back, trying to act all cool, and when I asked her why she did that, she got offended and refused to call us a taxi. PLAIN REFUSED, with an hour left for our flight to freedom from the clutches of these crazy people.

Stay away from these goons, they're completely crazy. I've stayed in many home stays but have never had such a bad experience! Unless you're thick-skinned like us, you'll end up ruining your vacation!

Room Tip: You're better off sleeping by the road-side! If you have no other option, REFUSE ground floor ro...

We were supposed to stay at Chube on 13- 14 August also but our bookings were not in place because of some mishap happened with existing Chube customer . Titled so because, we, a family of four touring through holiday package, felt exactly that as we arrived. A small stream, a pleasing flower, fruit and vegetable garden and a ringing "mane" welcome into this homely hotel located almost at the hill-foot. We were ushered in by the very friendly owners Mr Rigzin & Mrs Sonam Chubi.
A 2 storeyed building with elements of Ladakhi architecture is well maintained. A separate kitchen, a cozy indoor (with a beautiful view of the distant snow-capped mountains) and outdoor dining areas, clean and comfortable rooms with LCD TV monitors make this hotel.
The food is delicious and a cuppa Ginger honey tea is a must.
A sit-out with easy chairs outdoor, is excellent for relaxation and if lucky, for star-gazing, after a long day.
The most impressive feature of all is, the sweetness and warmth of the owners and every staff member, Mrs Hamo, Mrs Jamo, Mr Ashok, Mr Damodar and others.
All in all, we had a great 5 days' stay. Recommended.
