Thank you to Habib and his family for a lovely stay on the houseboat and for organising our trek. This family run set of houseboats is on the beautiful Nigeen lake. The views are wonderful, food is fantastic and the houseboat itself is clean and well kept. My friends and I also organised a trek and were so well looked after in the mountains. Wifi on the boat and hot water, access by road and shikara. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Room tip: Just speak to the owners about what type of room you want, as 3 girls we were all in one room which was great for us!

If Kashmir is heaven on earth, Wangnoo houseboat was heaven within heaven. Spanking clean, beautifully crafted with artistic woodcarving all around and perched at an amazing location giving you a beautiful view of sunrise through mighty Himalayas. A reflection of sunrise inside the lake doubles the fun. If you want to sit for introspection away from any hustle, it is highly recommended. Food served is average and there are not many options nearby. But you'll never mind it considering heavenly experience of staying there.

Room tip: You may choose a room without food options and if required may order the food after boarding.

Me and my husband stayed at Wagnoo Houseboats for 18 days and we
enjoyed the amazingly beautiful woodcarvings and decoration of what could
be described as a magic and divine houseboat. The nature at Nigeen Lake in Srinagar
with its peaceful waters and the mountains in the background creates an amazing atmosphere
that everyone has to experience once in a lifetime. In a way it like the Kashmir edition of Venice and Wagnoo houseboats creates the perfect frame for at romantic getaway.
The kind and friendly owner likes to visit the boats and talk to the guests, and it makes
you feel like being at home, also he is very helpful with organizing trips and cars to Sonamarg etc. The staff is very friendly and does everything they can to make the food nice and serve at the times that suits you. We truly enjoyed our stay and interactions with the lovely Kashmirians. Thank you so much!

Room tip: Choose the end room on the houseboat its more private

Kashmir is a pearl of beauty in India, and Wangnoo Houseboats may well be the best place to stay if you want a houseboat - a magnificent view, fantastic carved Kasmiri wall panels, reasonable food for India and - oh heaven - a hot bath. It's worth paying a little extra for Wangnoo. Wangnoo is on Nigeen lake, which is much more beautiful than Dal lake. These boats are pure luxury, and Mr Mohamed is a really helpful host who has seen it all over the last few decades. The shikara boats can take you on some great trips. There are many shikaras wanting to sell you something - but really Kashmiri craftwork is second to none, and it is not at all expensive. Buy something to make them happy and to support the wonderfil work of Kashmir.
