I was there for the fourth time. As usual people were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are wide and clean. You can seat on the rooftop to enjoy the view of the lake and the mountains around in an amazing lack of noises. Food is good and abundant. The hospitality is so bad .that the manager told us to sleep at 10....do you really think...when you are with family can we sleep at 10 ..... disgusting food.. trust you me .... it was more like dominating as a staff...
The manager and all staff are very rude.....

Please find suggestions for your future travelling especially when you stay at renowned properties:-
1. Whenever you book online, kindly mention the exact number of people staying in a room thereby avoiding a surprise and shock for the umpteen number of persons / Children sharing the room.
2. Share the ID's of accompanying Child at the time of check without consecutive requests from the property management.
3. Use a decent language with the staff while conversing.
4. No property allows outside food to be consumed in their dinning area, hence do not get take away food from Dhaba's to the Hotels.
5. If you are allowed to consume the food and use the dinning area a special case considering the children accompanied by you ( Like we did), Avoid puking and vomiting on expensive carpets, furniture and dinning tables.
6. Respect the other guests sharing the property with you and avoid being loud and uncivilised.

We had a great time at the Mascot Houseboat. It is beautifully furnished with modern amenities. The beauty, tranquility and the fresh air are just amazing. But the best is the hospitality - the owners took great care of us and definitely took the extra mile. They organized different hikes for us and even accompanied us. Last but not least the food at the houseboat and the lunches they sent along to our hikes were delicious. We will definitely come back!

Stayed in Shamah suite at the Mascot houseboat. Room was grand, very luxurious. Bathroom was great and the good thing was that everything was working. There was no kettle to make tea in the room and were assured that the boys are always around to take care of that, but whenever we called or looked for, they were missing. So had go to the pantry to get the things one wanted. Food served for dinner was mediocre and needs lots of improvement, same goes with breakfast.

Thanks for your review. We have removed the Tea/Coffee makers despite the fact that our guests enjoy a served Complimentary tea/coffee with cookies any number of times the guest demands. There have been colossal accidents with different houseboats due to laxity and insensitive handling of such amenities by guests resulting in complete damage to Houseboats in Kashmir. Serve Pantry is the closest Access/Contact point to staff( 10 metres) to Shamah Suite and the staff cannot roam around corridor respecting the privacy of guests.

One of the most authentic and original accomodation I have ever stayed in. Travelled for business and stummbled across this amazing place and we decided to give it a shot. We were beyond impressed! Every corner of Mascot houseboat is pure art, beautiful decoration, details of Kashmiri traditions instantly puts you in the mood to enjoy this beautiful place.
Attention of the staff was beyond words, the chef was preparing delicious meals for us every day, we tasted a lot of local delicacies and enjoyed the hospitality of the whole team.
The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable and we had an amazing afternoons at the beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains and Negin lake.
Special thanks to Immi who took his time off to take us around Kashmir, show us all the incredible scenery and some great conversations. We are beyond grateful!
