Drifter's is very quaint! A back packers haven! The rooms are baic but spacious clean and comfortable! The Food is excellent. We stayed with family and had a great time out here!

If there is anything to Complain about it is that the Old Manali approach road is a painfully narrow, causing many avoidable traffic blocks. The road should have another exit and be made a one way for this area's own good!

Having said that, we had a great time here and recommend the Cafe for dinner to all, and a great value for money room! Whay brings it all together is definitely Nishant and his staff, who are professional, courteous and helpful! Keep it up Nishant!

Room Tip: Try the Trout and the Pork Chops at their restaurant! The food in the restaurant is great in general...

The main ingredient that makes Drifters so great is Nishant, the manager. A young, ex-corporate guy with the perfect personality and professionalism to bring a very high level of quality to a very inexpensive place. Bravo!

I could tell from his email communication during booking that Nishant had his act together. Organized, courteous and timely. I changed my reservation three times - no problem. Upon arrival, the greeting was warm and super-loaded with information, travel ideas and personal connection. He immediately called to reserve my seat on the night bus to Delhi, and knew the many options available. No commission to him - good rate and friendly guy at the travel agency when i went to pay. Great advice for local treks and activities, including advice on what was worth paying more for, what to do indie etc. He also had good advice on what to beware of when purchasing pashmina (fake or not?) and the famous lambswool Kullu shawls.

The facility is extremely well run. Unlike other places where sometimes there's one person who has their act together and everybody else sits around, the whole staff here is courteous, thoughtful and service oriented. A high degree of professionalism throughout, with a super casual attitude. Rooms, bedding, bathrooms are clean, wifi works, water is hot, and i love the open patios on each floor where you can relax, take your meals, crash on the hammock etc

Given the location in a mountain valley with so many outdoor activities, combined with the good physical facility, great hospitality, affordable cost and mellow cafe/bar downstairs (best desserts I had in India), I found Drifters to be reminiscent of some of the legendary, classic backpackers of Europe. If Nishant and team keep it up and keep building and growing their offerings and reputation, I can imagine them becoming something like Balmers in Interlaken.

Great!

Very nice place in old manali. The owner is very helpful, giving tips about everything you have in mind. The rooms are clean and warm (we were here in march when it still was very cold on the evenings) with carpet floor. Thet have a fireplace in the restaurant and free wifi, if youre lucky the signal gets to your room.

The restaurant is quite expensive but the quality of food is thereafter :)

What attracts attention immediately on entering is the amusing placard which reads -"You can check out but you can never leave". It is a very warm and friendly place. We were treated very nicely and with personal touches.
The food is excellent, so is the ambiance and the music. The service is nice, and the people there do give helpful pointers of do's and dont's around Manali.
The view from the upper floors is breathtaking. It gave us a perfect retreat to rest, have fun and enjoy our vacation.
