Description: 'Agashiye' in Gujarati means on the terrace. This beautiful restaurant is spread over two huge terraces are inter-connected by a smaller one that houses a small wooden cottage. At Agashiye, the food is freshly prepared, a lot of it in the terrace kitchen where you can see it. Our attempt is to retain the distinct flavours of the ingredients and we use both spices and oil sparingly. The menu at Agashiye changes daily and varies seasonally too, so an item that you particularly liked during a previous visit may not be there on the menu. Though we hope you'd find another favourite! The staff at Agashiye comprises mostly of men from neighboring villages. During dinner, they will guide you to the waiting area where you will be served juice and starters. You will be informed when your table is ready. During lunch, you are seated at your table right away. The food is served in a kansa thali immediately on being seated at the table. The meal starts with a choice of Indian breads and ends with rice. Servings are unlimited. The staff has been instructed not to constantly hover around you and yet be attentive. In case you have a specific requirement, a supervisor will be there to assist you. Please don't be surprised if you are served a non-Gujarati dish or hear non-Indian music at Agashiye. It is neither an ethnic nor a theme restaurant. It is meant to be a dining experience in a contemporary Gujarati home.Agashiye can be booked for parties of up to 400 people with a buffet setting.

“Really nice”
Reviewed 17 February 2012

Agashiye is a brilliant place to eat at . The food is really nice - though I hadn't expected gujarati cuisine to be so good . It's the best place in ahmedabad to eat gujarati food . And the service is really nice , everybody there is very warm and hospitable.

“Good food, Wonderful setting”
Reviewed 17 February 2012

This highly touted spot for Gujarati Thali didn't quite meet expectations, but was very good. the setting is the best part of the meal and worth it for the ambieance, even if the evening is serenaded by car horns from the busy street corner it sits over.

The food was very good, but following the previous night's experience at Vishala, was a bit of a disapointment. If we hadn't gone to Vishala first, maybe the food would have impressed more.

You also feel a bit like you're herded in and out, as fast as possible, which wasn't the best. For the money, worth it, but based on one visit, would say go to Vishala.

“The BEST gujarati food”
Reviewed 9 February 2012

The ambience is traditional and the place is amazing. Its a full package of experience even if you are not residing in The House of MG, where this restaurant is located . There is fixed plate wth several starters, maincourses , vegetables and desserts on offer. Teh range of pickles and serbets is also very impressive The menu changes every day and has a wonderful mix of seasonal vegetables. Its Vegetraian and offers outstanding variety in each course. There are three varients of the plate with minor differences. The portions are unlimited and I bet you won't be able to even taste all of them- so much variety . Very tasty food and excellent service . Menu is available online at their site(http://www.houseofmg.com/food_menu.php?topid=Mg==)

“Agashiye review”
Reviewed 5 February 2012

If you're looking for great ambience, Agashiye is undoubtedly one of the best places in the city. However, when it comes to food, and especially value for money, it really stands a little far behind in comparison of other places in the same category. The food is good but it can be much better. More importantly, if I have to take a tourist or a non-gujju friend to give them a glimpse of how gujju food would be like, I would rather choose vishala or Rajwadu than Agashiye.
