With all our travels, one thing we have realized for sure is that when it comes to guest houses and B&Bs, what matters the most is the attitude of the hosts; everything else comes later. This is where Bougainvillea Guest House scores a perfect ten. Lourenco, the owner and his son Levan are the most gracious and wonderful hosts and a delight to meet. Right from the moment you step into the bougainvillea laden gate, they go all out to ensure that you feel completely at home. The guest house is perfectly located in a quiet lane away from the chaos and clutter and yet just a walking distance away from the beach and the Sinquerim market. The property has a beautiful old world charm with eight meticulously maintained and tastefully done up rooms. There is a small restaurant where they serve breakfast and pre-booked meals. Agnelo and the rest of the staff are very friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Bougainvillea definitely lives up to it's reputation and if you are looking for a relaxed, quiet holiday, it is definitely a great choice in the Sinquerim - Candolim area.
I have been staying with the lovely Silveira family now for 9 years.
Every time I stay they make me feel part of the family. Especially the 5 times I have came on my own. The accommodation is perfect with rooms to suit all. The staff are all so friendly and nothing and know request if possible is an effort. Great choice of breakfast and evening meals can be booked with a days notice.
I have made so many friends as many guests visit yearly like myself. I also visit some of them back in the UK. I am privileged to have such my lovely Goan family. They hold a special plays in my heart.
This is our fourth stay at this guest house and we would never stay anywhere else in Goa. Lourenco and his team are absolutely faultless. It is like coming home for two weeks. Every aspect of the service is personal and nothing is too much trouble. The standard of the room service and cleaning is amazing and we have not one single thing we could pick fault with. Just back, after spending a month at my favourite guest house. Whether you are a solo traveller (which I am many times); or come with friends; you are always made to feel so welcome by Lourenco & staff. This family-run piece of Paradise is a hidden gem.
All rooms have A.C. & are spotlessly cleaned daily. Agnelo is there to greet you at breakfast in the tranquil garden, tempting you with mouth-watering breakfasts. Dinner can be ordered in advance - magnificent feasts cooked by Lourenco & his son Leavan. A 5 minute walk takes you to Fort Aguada & the quieter shacks.
Nothing is too much trouble for Lourenco & his fabulous family. They go that extra mile & it shows with his returning customers, who he treats as friends. I've stayed at many guest houses & hotels in Goa, over the years & after finding this diamond, would NEVER stay anywhere else.

This is our second visit to this resort and we absolutely loved it loved it.
Lorenco and his staff provide a personalised service and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Every need is taken care of, starting our day with amazing yummy breakfast to catering for lunch on request. Our teenage girls enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Resort is walking distance to the beach and shops. We were also given discounts at the massage parlour being valued guests of Bougainville.
Lorenco is very helpful and knowledgeable, providing guidance on restaurants, attractions including airport pickup and drop.
We are already looking forward to our next trip to India and Goa in particular and will be staying with Lorenco and crew for sure.
