We visited Bougainvillea with our 1 year old baby. Mr Lourenco suggested us for Room No 201 suite room and arranged an additional cot for our baby sitter in the seating area. Also Babycot was provided for our little one and he enjoyed sleeping on that. Room was very big with 2 balconies, well ventilated, washroom was clean. Hot water kettle was given in room to prepare baby food. Room will be cleaned daily. management provide towel, small bathing soap, shampoo sachet.
We enjoyed Indian breakfast Parota/poori Allo ki sabji from the Bengali chef which was complimentary. We tried dinner also and ordered in advance. There was no fixed rate or menu. It is based on guests choice. Food taste was really good. There is no full time restaurant but one can order food in advance. Tea/Coffee always available on request. Food cost is little high but overall Goa is very very costly place. Quality and Quantity of food are good. Lots of greenery in the Bougainvillea. Careful about mosquitoes/ants near trees @breakfast area/ Balcony area.
Mr Lourenco arranged taxi for our pickup and all sightseeing. Again taxi charge is very high in Goa, Uber or Ola does not work. Vasco Railway station to Bougainvillea Rs 1600, Bougainvillea to calangute Rs 800, Bougainvillea to Baga Rs 1000.
Its 10 mints walk from Bougainvillea to Sinquerim beach. Roads are very much dark after sunset. Sinquerim beach has lots of water sports but again very costly. Basic Water scooter ride Rs 500, incase if u like to drive the scooter its Rs 1000 for 2 to 3 mints ride. Sky blue water color is the best part, beach is not over crowded like Calangute or Baga. If you like shopping then there is no good option nearby. Calangute is the best option for shopping.
There are many good restaurants down the lane 15 mints walk from Bougainvillea. Pls try Soi restaurant, wonderful taste. Also behind busstand a small veg restaurant by name Khana khazana. You may not dine in there, but we tried to parcel our lunch. Very cheap, healty and tasty homely food. However there is no restaurant close by.
Drinking water has to be bought on daily basis. There is no Aqua guard or water purifier at hotel. 1 ltr water bottle will cost Rs 20 to 25 at different shops based on brands.
Restaurant on the beach are costly, but its worth trying some foods with drinks while enjoying the sea. Prawn lovers, pls check if prawns are cleaned inside as it may cause stomach upset. In one of the beach restaurants we found that black threads are not cleaned from chilly prawn which was coated.
Last but not the least Mr Lourenco and his son's hospitality is amazing. Its like home and we never felt difficulty though we traveled with baby.
