We visited Golkonda on 1st week of September Saturday. The weather was pleasant, as the season was basically monsoon. Drizzling rain once interrupted while we were up to the top but humidity was less. We started in the afternoon and covered the fort in 1.5hrs more or less. Taking guide is very much required as he describes the history as well as demonstrate the architectural and construct of this awesome fort. You will be amazed when somebody claps from a particular points of a fort and you hear it from top of the fort. when somebody whisper near a wall and that is heard on another wall. This is a mix of science in page of history.
From 7pm we had a Light and sound show in the fort. ticket price are 50 and 100 INR. This show is a traveler's delight. The show runs for a hour long.Anybody visiting Golkonda should not give a miss to this show. History of the Fort is described in a beautiful light and sound effect.
One bad thing of this area is mosquito. You should carry a mosquito repellent cream if you want to concentrate on this show.
One more thing to keep in mind if you have infant with you, then you should be prepared to carry him/her in your shoulder as the path to top of the fort is not comfortable for little child.
