Travel from Portblair to Havelock or Neil is best through this ferry, It has a open deck to see the view, DJ and music for dancing, TV for movies. In 2.5 hours you can get everything you need for a good fun travel. There are other ferries too but I found this the most worth.
The ferry trip from Havelock to Port Blair was cancelled in the last minute. The official version given to us was ship needed maintenance. But it was easy to guess that the ship was underbooked. We were made to travel in Makruzz ferry (tickets transferred) and were offered very little assistance with luggage movement when compared to the passengers originally booked with Makruzz. This experience left a bitter taste in our minds
We upgraded our class from executive to royal just to enjoy the view of the ocean. It was overall good experience and you can go to top to view the sea/ocean. Snacks/Beverages are costly. so better buy it outside before get in.
It's good, simple and gives you a different experience if sailing on the sea for the first time. The vessel requires maintenance and seating needs to be replaced. Not worth the price (Rs 900 for lowest class) as you can travel in comfortable Makruzz for just Rs 100 more (Rs 1000 for lowest class). Only pros of green ocean over Makruzz is that you can visit the deck and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea.
Journey was ok. Seating space is bit congested. Plus point is open deck where you can enjoy, have some snacks and dance on the music. Nice atmosphere to enjoy. Hygiene is an issue here. Overall so so experience but better than others as it has an open deck.
My to & fro to Havelock was on green ocean. On the bright side you can go a deck up and get the sea view. There is snack counter that plays music. This is what most of the crowd did, as sitting inside was terrible, especially the last rows. The seats are broken and don’t be surprised if you find cockroaches. There are TV screens where they play a movie (Dhoni, in my case).
I would suggest take Makruzz one way and Green Ocean on the return to experience both. Also not to forget they are priced same.
