We visited Egypt in April and chose this hotel as it was a family hotel & good for children.
The rooms were clean, although we did have 2 days where the room wasn't cleaned at all. The room was big and airy with powerful (if a little noisy) air conditioning. We were supposed to have a ps2 in the children's den but there wasn't one, not a big deal as they weren't there to play on a ps2. The walls on the rooms could have been a little thicker perhaps - we were woken every night at random hours with children screaming or adults shouting, no-one seemed capable of being quite or be able to close a door without slamming it no matter how late.
Food was ok, lots of choice even for the fussy eater, there is also a choice of 3 restaurants you can visit - we visited the Chinese which wasn't great, more like poor version of Thai and then the Med one which was better, we didn't try the Indian. They do need fly control in the eating area's as they were everywhere.
The pools were good but SO cold and heating would have been nice, even though it was very warm the pools took your breath away.
Beach was nice, sea lovely & would recommend a camel ride.
The biggest disappointment in this hotel was the dreadful entertainment, there was bingo every night (not sure what you do with your children if you wanted to play?) and no-where really to sit and enjoy a drink. There were a few chairs outside but undercover so the smell of people smoking was not nice to sit in, plus not enough chairs. There was a child's disco which we visited once but the music (at the risk of sounding old!) was so loud that no parent could sit & chat whilst their child dances (or ran around). A lot of people sat in the reception area which had air con so cold it was uncomfortable to sit in, but again not ideal for children. We spoke to a few people and they thought the same - not enough to do in an evening and unlike other holiday destinations it wasn't the kind of place you wandered around at night as you got hassled to much.
I can't comment on the kids clubs as ours didn't attend.
We ended up going back to our rooms after dinner but couldn't sit on the balcony for the amount of Mosquitos buzzing around (despite using the recommended spray) so perhaps some candles outside would be nice.
Had great weather, very hot with a slight breeze which can catch you out so get high factor cream.
I wouldn't come back to this hotel again but that's not to say it wasn't nice enough, certainly good for the sunshine.
