Well another excellent Holiday at St George Xperience. this was our third return to the friendly hotel!!! Food was very good and we noticed some marked improvements, all the sun beds had been replaced with chic wooden ones very comfortable and always plenty to go around!! The service was great and as always the rooms were presented and maintained great!!
We are booking again for next year !!

We where at the sister hotel in June this year the Kiroseiz Parkland but we always end up going back to St George. Arrived on 10th Aug for 2 weeks and was met with a very warm welcome from Michael and the rest of the reception staff. We were booked in quickly and within minutes shown to our room, not hard as it was directly behind the lobby bar (room 1028), we'd previously emailed the hotel and requested a room by the quiet pool and this is exactly what we got. The room was large, queen size bed for us and a choice of bed for our daughter plus the option of using the sofa bed, along with all the normal fittings you'd expect. The restaurant was still open on our arrival should we have wanted anything to eat but we'd eaten on the plane.
First few days were spent by the "Noisy" pool, we soon moved to the quiet pool or the beach because it was a tad too noisy for us and you got more hassle from the guys flogging spa treatments and tattoos, despite saying no we were bugged at least 4 or 5 time a day even though we said no, we did actually pretend to be asleep sometimes or quickly jumped into the pool to avoid them!!! The quiet pool is exactly what it said on the tin - very quiet - no music no ball games etc. Very relaxing and ideal for reading if you can cope with the heat! The beach is very similar, very quiet and very relaxing. it was just a shame that you were hemmed in to keep you away from the boat area. There were a few fish to be seen but not very many, decent snorkelling about a 1/4 mile hike round the coast but beware that this is an open beach and there are theiving locals knocking about so don't leave anything lying around, also its a hard walk in the mid afternoon heat. Food at the beach is ok, its more of a snack bar and yes they have plenty of chips available!!! Staff were really good and very friendly, they could not do enough to help and assist you. Food at the main hotel at lunch was very good too, a good selection of hot food, yes including chips, and a good choice of salads, other cold food and fruit/desserts. The other main meals were just as good, a good choice to be had for all meals but did get very samey but that can't be helped. Water is dispensed via water machines located throughout the hotel so you can fill your bottle up whenever you wanted. You apparentley get a water bottle on arrival and you fill it up daily but we seemed to get a bottle or 2 left for us each day so there was no worries there. I would just recommend drink , drink and drink more water and when you are done, drink more water. There were cases of people with upset stomachs, including myself, this i doubt was down to the food, more likely it was the case of too much sun and not enough liquid (non-alcoholic!!!!). A quick trip to the pharmacy (turn right out of the hotel and a 2 min walk) soon sorted this out. The hotel also has a clinic on site but we didn't use this.
All the staff in the hotel were brilliant, Ramony at the main lobby bar was exceptional, very polite and loved to talk to you (if the management weren't around!) Infact non of them could be faulted, they worked so hard to make sure you enjoyed yourself.

Right now the not so good things:

Take your own large plastic cups, the ones they give you drinks in are tiny.
Entertainment - very much like the rest of Egypt, very low key and very poor, its really not worth it. The animation crew were good and fun and they did a great job in the noisy pool with volley ball, water polo etc but the evening entertainment was poor, some night were marginally better than others!
Noise - Whilst we were there, there were bus loads of Egyptians/Jordanians turn up. These people were rude and noisy and let their kids run round like it was a playground even at 1am. They were greedy and noisy in the restaurant, they piled plates full of food and then left vast amounts, the wastage was unbelieveable. They treat the staff like slaves and were generally disrespectful. As our room was right behind the lobby bar we ended up complaining because of the noise and thankfully Michael took the situation seriously and after a couple of nights this was sorted. Other residents on other floors had the same problem with kids and adults making a lot of noise in the early hours and this was still happening when we went home.

All in all it was a very enjoyable holiday that sped by far too quick, it was the first time we have all said that we didn't want to go home and that we could have quite happily spent another week there. This is to the credit of the staff and the lovely people that we met during our stay. Would we go back - YES (then we can have a special red wristband :) )

Room Tip: email the hotel before you go and ask for a room at the quiet pool but request that it is further aw...
