This was our 4th visit to HSB and we will have nothing said against the staff there - they work so hard to make everything as perfect as possible. Sadly, the management don't really appear to see the changes that need making to return this hotel to it's former brilliance. With the current management in charge, this is now an average hotel at best. We attended the Manager's cocktail party and whilst we were listened to, we were simply waved away with an air of arrogance.
The other thing that really annoys me - which is not the hotel's fault - is that so many people touch the corals, feed the fish and even stand up on the reef to adjust their snorkelling gear. They are slowly damaging the reef and it needs firmer action to be taken on the guilty parties before there is nothing left for people to see. It has declined markedly since we first went there 4 years ago.
Our holiday was still a memorable one thanks to Tamer, Peter, Ahmed, Hamdy & Reda but COME ON HILTON - SORT OUT THIS SAD DECLINE !!!

Room Tip: We prefer the old part of the hotel as it has more charm and is close to the beach - we are not real...

We were on the new side. Room was very good, clean and modern. Pools were good, one with no kid policy which was nice and quiet.
Bars were ok, drinks seem to flow and no complaints there.
However, the food was poor. Everything was bland and tasted stale or precooked. The waiters were very mixed, some helpful, others just not interested. All the food areas could have been cleaner.

As other reviews alude to, they water the flowerbeds with what smells like sewer water, not pleasant.

Any hotel associated with the Hilton name should not allow this. Do not expect usual Hilton standards if you stay here!

We stayed here for 11 nights in May.. the staff were very welcoming. they took us to the room very quickly in a buggy. the room was spacious and comfortable. our room had a pool at the back which made a lovely view. It took us a few days to work out where everything was as its quite a large complex. we were offered an upgrade to a delux room which we didn't have but we were able to use the delux side facilities. there were several pools which were all quite big and some have slides. the delux side of the hotel seemed to have higher standards than the side that we were staying on. the staff in the restaurant on delux side were very friendly, it sometimes took them a while to serve us drinks. staff in the other side of the hotel were also friendly although one breakfast time we went in about 10.45 when breakfast finished at 11 and one of the members of staff was shaking his head and looking at his watch! the food seemed to be the main problem at this hotel, there was never much choice, the Egyptian restaurant was not nice at all. the Italian restaurant is the best one! this is part of the all inclusive and you can choose from anything on the menu We visited the.Houses of Asia restaurant and this was nice food, it was freshly cooked, we choose to have Indian food but it didn't really taste the same as what we have had in Indians before. 2 of us in our party had bad stomachs, we noticed that they use their own water to wash the cups that they serve drinks in which could be why so many people get ill! we think that they could have had more choice in snacks during the day time. the Alcohol is there own cheap spirits which don't taste nice! You have to pay extra if you want any imported spirits. Also a big negative is that there wasn't any good entertainment in the evenings, as we were in the hotel quite allot it would have been allot better if there was more entertainment. the hotel is in a very good location very near to Soho square so we were able to walk to the shops in the evening. There is also a bus that runs from the hotel to Nama Bay. The bus service in the hotel is also very good as it takes you from the beach side to the delux side when its to hot to walk! I think it would be better if everything was together and they focused on trying to make the hygiene standards higher! we noticed fly's around the food in both main restaurants, all they would need to do is put some fly catchers up to prevent this! there was also a constant smell from one of the bins which was not pleasant. It is a shame to complain about these things as this hotel could easily make these small improvements to make it allot more pleasant for guests! Overall we enjoyed our holiday, its not a bad hotel but i think there is better in Sharm..

In regards to the food, food is a very subjective topic and given that we serve in excess of 3000 meals a day and have guests from many different countries it is not always possible to accommodate individual personal tastes. The majority of our guests leave completely satisfied, whilst many of our guests become regulars and return 3 – 4 times a year.

In respect of the stomach upset, the hotel is HACCP compliant undergoes monthly external Health and Safety audits, where our results are deemed as excellent. Upset stomachs are not necessarily a result of food, but can be combination of many reasons. Given that the hotel is all inclusive, any potential virus would affect all of our guests. To further insure our guests’ satisfaction we also have a resident doctor on site 24 hours a day.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback and once again I am sorry that you felt that the hotel did not live up to your expectations. I do hope that you do give the hotel another chance on your next visit to Sharm, as we contently strive to improve the service to our guests.

We stayed for 6 nights and some friends joined us and they stayed for 10 nights. We could not find any fault with this hotel. Rooms were modern and cleaned every day, towel art 10/10! As a vegetarian I thought I may have trouble eating but I was very well catered for and they even have a separate menu from you to order from in the buffet restaurant. Pool area was clean and animation team keeps you busy if you want to be. We haggled a good deal at the spa and treated ourselves to a message – would recommend.
Beach area lovely and snorkeling amazing. Best holiday this year!

Room Tip: Rooms in the main building for easy access to pool etc,

First of all we would like to suggest that management take a walk & a good look around all the hotel areas each day, there was litter etc laying around for the entire 11 days?? Walking up the stairs in 1200 block - looking down into the air con/boiler areas was so disgusting - it would take a couple of hours to get this sorted?
We booked 11 nights from 18th May 2012. As we checked in we were offered an upgrade for £10 per night, if we had wanted this we would have done so upon booking?
The room however, was fine, we had requested high floor, quiet room when we booked - the room attendant kept the room lovely, this I would say was the only thing going for Hilton!
The hygiene of the public areas was of a terrible standard - dread to think what things were like behind the public areas!
The main restaurant in the old side:-
There was a large bin the waiters scraped leftover food into, this smelt so rancid, I asked the restaurant manager for it to be removed or cleaned or even a lid to cover, this was not sorted in the time we were there?
The food overall was very poor, badly presented, spoons/ladles caked up with food or missing?
The Bedouin restaurant, we saw the chef wearing plastic gloves adding the raw kofta meat to the skewers then immediately handle cooked food -wow - none the wonder the was so many really ill people!! Makes one wonder what goes on in the main kitchens!!
Pools:-
We spend most of the days by the quiet pool near 900 block, the area was not cleaned in the 11 days although the water was tested daily. The main pool, the attendant there appeared to reserve beds for customers who obviously tipped well! This pool area was cleaned daily. The pool bar area attracted insects as the floor was not mopped often throughout the day. The polycarbonate glasses were scratched, worn & not washed to a good standard. The soft drinks were placed on the counter first thing on a morning hence they were hot by 11am, even when they added ice, it melted right away!!
Sunset Bar:-
One day I found sand in the bottom of my plastic glass (do they even wash them?)!! The menu for a lunch time looked appealing until we found out that 3-4 items were not available this was the entire holiday, they seem to prefer to offer hot dogs, burgers & reheated chips.
Italian Restuarant:-
We ate there 3 times, this was the only place we would say the food came up to standard.
Chillout Bar:-
This bar was good, served good drinks in glasses, however, we would recommend the short walk to the Q bar in the new site, much more comfy.
The evening we were leaving we asked why there was so much cleaning being done in the Waterfall pool area, staff told us with a smirk, that the manager was having a meal with returning guests ( they seem to make a big deal with these guests, why?). We feel that the effort being put into this cleaning should have been carried out each day not just to impress the manager.
We did complete the hotels questionnaire form upon leaving although they haven`t had the decency to reply to us even though they have my contact details. Do Hilton read these questionnaires?
We were both ill from upset stomachs, in fact, practically everyone we spoke to said they were/had been ill, children & adults, there is obviously a big problem, maybe the hotel should ask customers to report any illness as they need to monitor this!!
We have stayed in Sharm 5 other times at excellent hotels.
Why guests keep returning we cannot understand, although the staff are really customer freindly.
We would not recommend Hilton Sharks Bay & we would certainly think twice about using any Hilton hotel after this experience.
