“Would be ideal but for the food”

We stayed for a week to relax and do some diving, and had a room in the older part near the small pool. The resort is clean and well maintained, the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. We ate mostly in the main restaurant although tried the restaurant in the new part also. I'm not difficult to please when it comes to food and I don't think I'm unrealistic in my expectations of all-inclusive catering, but the food was disappointing to the extent that it wasn't enjoyable. Likewise I found the wine and beer unpalatable. On the positive side, the restaurant staff work hard to please the customers and if you are fortunate enough to be looked after by Reda or Youssef you will still enjoy your meal even if the food is a bit of a let down. Reda sets a benchmark for customer service, and can take the credit for my giving the hotel 4 rather than 3 marks.
In every other respect the hotel is good and if the food and drinks were better I wouldn't hesitate to give it 5.

This was our third visit to this hotel, as we had loved our previous visits.

No real faults could be found with the rooms - we prefer the older side as it has more atmosphere - and the guy who cleaned the room (Abdul) was thorough, helpful and cheerful at all times.

Mohammad who looked after the pool was about the most hard working and helpful person we met. Nothing was too much trouble for him,and he is an asset to the hotel.

Saad-al-Din? in the restaurant has the memory of an elephant! He remembered what drinks everybody had at each meal, and was also smiling continuously.

Reception staff were all welcoming, and very appologetic about the lack of effective wifi.

Sadly, we will not be returning for a 4th visit until we hear reports of a great improvement in the quality of the food. During our previous visits we could not fault the food, but they now appear to be catering to a much-reduced budget, which means that the quality and choice are, in my opinion, quite poor. An example of this is in the Bedouin restaurant where in the past the flatbread was freshly rolled and cooked in the kebab ovens whilst you waited, and it was delicious. This time they were mass-produced, pulled from a plastic bag of 100 or so, served cold and tasted of sawdust. The chef here was unsmiling and appeared not to care about his customers.

The catering staff tried hard but were having to clear tables whilst you sat rather than us being able to sit at a ready-laid and clean table.

The food in the Italian restaurant was insipid at best and unedible at worst. The pepperoni pizza was a flabby tasteless base with sliced hotdog sausage as the pepperoni. The organisation in this restaurant leaves much to be desired.

In conclusion; the hotel, location, staff and pool areas were great; but sadly I can no longer recommend this hotel to my friends.

I stayed here with my partner in the beginning of April 2012, we had a lovely holiday. The room was clean and we came into a different towel animal every day. There were English channels on the TV so perfect if you don't feel like going out in the evening. Soho square was nearby with lots of shops. The staff were very friendly, and two of the entertainers Adriano and Sam were brilliant at getting everyone involved in the daytime activities. The service during meal times was fantastic, you are never without a drink and they remember you and what drinks you normally order. It is very close to the airport but I honestly could not here a thing. The games room could do with a little up-dating and more in it, but the kids still seem to love it. This hotel is perfect for everyone.

My huge apologies for this post being so late but I hope anyone going on holiday to ‘The Hilton Shark Bay’ will still find it useful. Mother (62) & daughter ( 33) went there to catch up & relax for a week. I must admit we did not go anywhere except for our hotel room, the pool and the restuarants.
The ‘All inclusive’ was a first for me & I have travelled a great deal but I found it as I expected. Everything is ‘Included’ but that does not mean that you have to drink & eat youeself silly!!
The staff at the hotel were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble – although you do have to remember that sometimes they are VERY busy so just be a little patient.
Mohemed at the pool was brilliant and we thank you for making our stay all the more enjoyable. You were so cheerful each morning by the pool and no matter how late we were you always found us a sunbed!
Every night we ate at the Al Bedouin Retaurant. I know thay have the Italian etc, etc, but we loved the traditional food here. Fantastic salads with grilled meats and eat as much as you want! We generally managed one round! The resturant has AMAZING staff. Nothing is too much trouble & our table was beautifully decorated each night & glasses never emptied! Thank you to the fantastic Ali Elgamal – who seemed to run the resturant single- handed. However, in the background was the amazing Essmat ( the Manager) – always with a smile on his face.
Then we had the delightfull entertainment team, consisting of Sam, Adriano, Shosha, Duff & Ronny. They kept us cheerful by the pool- their dancing was delightful and the our water aerobics interesting & very enjoyable. Sam has a way of ‘persuading’ you to do dance moves you would rather die than be seen doing. But with Sam at the helm it was graet fun!
The Hilton at Sharks Bay is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are very helpful and really look after you. I intend to go back again as soon as I get the opportunity.

I stayed here in the 5* part, it was lovely, the rooms were brand new, had fabulous decor and spacious wardrobes.

The TV had a few movie channels which was fab for the evenings!

The food was really good, always fresh, breakfast dinner and tea, offered lots of variety - there was a cooking station where the chefs cooked your food fresh - the breakfast pancakes were marvellous.

im really glad that I stayed in the 5* part as the sister hotel was not as nice.

The hotel staff were friendly - and were as helpful as they could be if you asked for anything - they liked a laugh and a joke too.

I enjoyed the trips the snorkelling was so brilliant one of the best places for snorkelling, and the pyramids were worth a look!

I would definately go back to this hotel, the grounds were well kempt and the staff sprayed mosquito killer in the evening, so i didnt get bitten once! - even tho it was March!

Sharm is a lovely place!
