“A wonderful, relaxing holiday”

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Hilton Waterfalls hotel.

- The staff at the hotel were wonderful, always smiling, friendly and will do anything to help.
- Our room was extremely large with a huge super king size bed, which was lovely and comfortable. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard, and all towels and bedding smelt fresh and clean.
- The swimming pool and outside area was very clean with comfortable sun loungers (the pool was very cold, but refreshing!)
- The beach was lovely, with mattresses provided and pillows, a cocktail bar is nearby too so you can lay back and relax with a pina colada!
- All the food in the hotel is of a very high standard and very tasty, however we preferred the Al a Carte restaurants to the main dining buffet area as you get a more personal touch with a waiter and the food is cooked fresh.
- Our favourite restaurant was the Italian which we saved until the last night, highly recommended and our waiter, Mohamed was wonderful and offers service with a smile!
- The All Inclusive drinks menu includes a range of cocktails plus local spirits and soft drinks and the all inclusive food menu has lots of choice, in the seperate restaurants they also offer an extra menu for an extra cost. (which isn't much, if you fancy a steak, prawns etc)

All in all we had a really wonderful holiday, the small touches of this hotel make it special, the staff are so friendly and the complex is constantly being cleaned and polished.

The only very small complaints we have is:
- We arrived late in the evening (23:30) after a very slow, delayed transfer, we were starving and the only food they could offer us was some cold potato and frankfurter sausages in the Latino bar, which were horrible. I think the hotel should cater for late arrivals and welcome them with something a bit better than that.
- The hotel is full of Russian guests, and as others have said, were very rude and barge you out of the way.
- The spa staff selling the massages can get a bit irritating, asking you about 5 times a day if you would like to buy a treatment. (however, when you politely decline, they do quickly leave you alone). (until the next day...)

We feel very relaxed after a fantastic holiday.

My husband and I arrived at Hilton Sharm Waterfalls on Thursday Feb 16th in the evening. We had booked a double room but when our tour operator told them we were on our honeymoon, they immediately upgraded us to a room with a king sized bed for free. When we arrived we were greeted with glasses of hibiscus juice which was really refreshing. The check-in process was very smooth and we were taken to our room on a golf cart.

We were concerned about our late arrival and being able to eat dinner but were happy that we were able to have the buffet until 10 which gave us enough time to clean up and head to dinner. Our first impression of the main restaurant "Cascade" was that we were seated at a table with a very dirty table cloth. We had no idea of the process for turning around tables for guests so we were a bit taken aback by the table. We were happy though that for the remainder of the trip, the tables were much cleaner even if not perfect. Seeing the volume of guests at dinner service made us understand the speed they have to turn tables around..

On the topic of food, although we didn't love everything we ate, everything tasted good and there were some things we liked a lot.

By day 3, we were well tired of the buffet for dinner and spent the next 4 nights at Verdi's Bistro (didn't love the food, it was medioicre), Zahle Sur Mer (twice - LOVED their food) and Shish Bish (good food but awkward seating if you are tall and a VERY limited menu. Would recommend just going to Zahle because the menu is almost the same).

Food-wise, we really just got sick of it. We wanted more options. We ordered room service a few times (disappointing). The buffet had theme nights but the flavours weren't exciting. The basics were cooked well (fish was always divine) but although things changed, they were always just small variations on the same thing. I think we were hoping that the theme nights had actual flavours of those regions. Everything just seemed to taste similar. I was wishing for spicy something different. I guess trying to please so many guests is difficult. I loved the concept of the separate kids buffet.

We regretted not trying Zahle sooner because we probably would have eaten there more often. We even started having lunch there instead of the main buffet as the main buffet never changed for breakfast or lunch for the most part and although the selection of food was large, it was always the same basic stuff and the lunch was fairly heavy. Zahle had a lovely hot pita sandwich (loved the fish and chicken options) with soup and salad bar included in the AI package and it was delicious. We even broke from the All Inclusive and ordered off the regular menu at Zahle for dinner. It was delicious but the appies on the AI menu were to die for! Delish!

The pool island bar served chips(crisps) for free as snacks. I also loved the free ice cream at Latinos and Tipsy Turtle and snuck some of the hot evening snacks of leftover buffet food from Latinos back to our room most nights. I was worried about going hungry/snacky since I am pregnant but I was never hungry.

Drinks were plentiful and we had a few favourite spots for the service.. we loved the Cafe Shalalat. The service was really top notch and the guys always made the drinks we wanted and then brought them to us! The other place we loved was the Pool Island bar which was right smack in the middle of the main pool area. They didn't serve but they were always fantastic. We also ate lunch there (not included in AI) and it was delicious. That day we had been out and missed all the AI lunch services.

Our room was very nice and Ahmed kept it clean. Although the shower curtain was falling apart, it didn't bother me as the resort is so huge and they appeared to be working constantly on repairing something. Also the time we spent in the room was minimal. Ahmed also left us the occasional towel sculpture which was a treat!

We went on two excursions. We took a tour on a glass bottom boat sponsored by Bobs (at the hotel) in Naama Bay to see the coral/fish. It was fun and aside from the floaty dock being scary to walk on, it was great. Also we went to Old Market. It wasn't quite what we expected and some of the shop owners were really pushy. We were hounded incessantly by taxi drivers and shop owners and we had to resort to just ignoring them which was hard because we are normally polite! After seeing Naama Bay I would recommend shopping there instead. The hotel shops are great too but very expensive and they are harder to bargain with.

Our overall impression of the resort was really high. It was so beautiful and when the weather was cooperating, we enjoyed lounging by and in the pool. We loved the salt water pool.

Our main complaint was that the spa guys were really annoying. The first and only day we ventured up to the heated pool by the spa, we were ushered into the spa (soaking dripping wet) so they could try and sell us treatments. We said no, we told them we just wanted to swim but they kept trying to ask us to sit down. When I finally walked out the door, they stopped me to still show me the binder of services. Every day they approached us about spa treatments (no matter where were lounging) which wouldn't have been a problem except that when we said no, they wouldn't stop pushing. It got to the point by the last couple of days that we started just saying no, no, no when they started to talk and even then they kept going. They didn't even seem to care that we were reading or had earphones in. It took some of the relaxation away from the trip.

Another complaint we had was the lack of evening activities for adults. The pool tables etc.. were monopolized by kids most of the time and only having two in total... The website mentioned chess available at Shish lounge but we couldn't find it and the main desk had no idea. We were expecting more options for evening fun. We even tried to go to the B2 Night club but it wasn't open at all which was disappointing. We ended up playing cards and games we brought either in our room or in cafe shalalat.

Our final complaint was the amount of indoor smoking! I am an ex-smoker and pregnant and I was overwhelmed by the amount of smoking areas. Shish bish had no non-smoking option offered to us and Latinos was always really smoky (even in the non-smoking area). Also the kids movie area above latinos allowed smoking! Cafe Shalalat was the only place (aside from Zahle and the main restaurant) where we knew we were guaranteed a smoke free seat.

All in all I think if we ever go back to Egypt, we might go back to this resort. This was our very first hot vacation and first all inclusive vacation so we didn't know what to expect. We may try other countries in the future but I can imagine going back to this resort if we go back to Sharm.

I think the planned upgrade for free wifi in 2012 will be a nice perk. Also LOVED the funicular.

The Hotel is really nice, But the 1st thing they will do when you check in is try and get you to upgrade your room £133.00... we said no and they told us they only had Double rooms available - we were 4 ladies (friends only) and had booked twin rooms... eventually they found us 2 rooms and they were not what we expected at all, they changed these for us and these were really really nice, that took about 3 hours or so... after that everything was fine, the food is nice although not a lot of choice, except for the breakfasts they were brilliant loads of choice and you will be stuck for choice.. There are 141 steps down to the main pool area and the Beach, but they do have 2 lifts taking you down and these were a god send to me.
The Hotel is very clean and our room was an absolute pleaseure to go back to after Ahmir (the cleaner) had been in, Nothing is too much trouble for most of the staff and they like to see you happy.
All in all after the check in saga we had a really good time - i would go back to this hotel but would hope they have done something about the meals

We were a bit regretful to learn that your perception of our resort did not fully comply with the image of a five-star hotel. The entire team of the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls team put a lot of effort to maintain the highest standards of service and to let our guests feel most valued and genuinely cared for.

As a front des manager, I was concerned to know about the extended check-in time. Allocation of a particular room type/bedding arrangement is the subject to availability at the time of arrival and conditioned by the occupancy level. The upgrade to deluxe sea view room is optional and offered to our arriving guests in order to excel their holiday experience.

All of us were glad to know that you were completely satisfied with the resort’s facilities, the overall service provided by our employees as well as the excellent hospitality they extended. Our executive chef was also glad to read your remarks about our restaurants. I will be sure to pass your comments to our team members as they are pride themselves in the quality of their work and love to hear from our family of customers.

We will continue with full power and motivation to strive for excellence - hopefully, you will notice a difference during your next stay. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful , the man who always help us was Shady, a very good service, we get from him. A man who always listened to us og helped, if we needed it.

The hotel was lovely, everythings was clean.
